OK, it's a slight spoiler (but not much): the sigil (stone) is at the very top of the tower which has the narrow vertical yellow strip at the top. I say this because most Oblivion planes (there are sixteen different ones) have more than one tower. The sigil stone looks like a fuzzy black ball surrounded by an aura. If you are in the correct tower then you will see a steam of light shining up inside the tower from the yellow pool in the centre of the base. Your route to the top will take you out into areas on the outside of the main shaft, and then back in. You will nearly always have to go inside at least one other tower for access reason. There is at least one exception where there is only one tower, but it takes forever to find the tunnels leading into it. One plane requires you to jump across lava for access. Once inside the main tower, there are only about four basic layouts, and the top section of them all is the same.
Nearly forgot: like the tower on the right:

The colour of the streak looks wrong in that screenie though.

Yes. It's not really an exploit though. And since the Grey Prince is leveled like everyone else it's not a real help anyway.

Seen the adverts on TV for this and looks good. Do you need experience of this type of game to know what the fek to do? I've never played anything like this, only football, driving and shoot em ups so not had to use initiative in a game before

It can be in any village....
Even happened in a side mission yesterday, the one where you have to go and meet the countess in Bruma. I walked in the room and the countess and some other woman just came at me with swords !! I killed the woman and the countess was knocked out, when she came round she talked to me as if nothing had happened, all the while the other body was just on the floor..

Dragon tongue plant is located in Southeast of Bravil, West Weald, or South of Bawn. Redwort flowers are located in Nothern Blackwood, hope this all helps. he might want something else if he does it will be vampire dust and daedra hearts. the deadra heart are easy enough just go into a oblivian gate. you will find some in there. not sure about vampire dust but can find out if needed. let me know if you need more help.

Do they suddenly sprout daedric armour? If you have done part of the Main Quest then Mythic Dawn disciple will spring out of the woodwork and have a go at you.

Found a floating rock, and a flying skeleton also
Best I can manage is a flying fish, about fifty yards from the nearest water. And since there aren't usually slaughterfish in open water anyway, I don't know what it was doing there at all.

I seem to have hit a sweet spot at the moment - I'm just harvesting dungeons for the goodies and picking up the odd side quest - although the hoops you have to jump through for some people.... 4 cups and a goblet for heavy armour training????
Ask anyone in a Fighters Guild house and they will tell you (all big towns have one except the Imperial City. Do NOT go to Kvatch if you haven't already!
IIRC Mages Guild can be joined at any of the towns apart from the IC and Kvatch.
Blades is joined as part of the main quest.
The Dark Brotherhood will ask you to join if you murder someone (that's not a spoiler, some NPCs will tell you the same).
Thieves Guild: talk to beggers.
The Arena: go in the main gate, door on the left, talk to Owyn.
Those are the only proper guilds. There are three other minor organisations you can join:
Knights of the Thorn: you get membership via the Main Quest - and only that way AFAIK.
Knights of the White Stallion. Joined in Cheydenhal after a quest with an orc.
Order of the Virtuous Blood. If you are in the IC with a rep over 5 you will be approached.

I've got a few annoying sods who won't give me what I want because I'm "not famous enough". I'm a level 20-odd Knight who is built like a brick outhouse. What are they after and how would I get this fame? I've closed 2 gates and everyone's doing the "Hero of Kvatch" thing.
The guys I'm referring to are a couple of the counts for buying houses and a couple of the trainers (blade is one I think)
Thanks

As an aside, me raising my speechcraft so high has left me lacking in the "beating things with pointy sticks" department. Now I'm playing catchup and even wild monsters on the trails are giving me a hard time. As mentioned earlier in the thread, don't concentrate on too many of your majors - Go for 2 or 3 only and you'll have a much easier run.

To find out your fame (if you are on a PC) hit f1, then choose the tab on the right. Scroll down and it will tell you. Note also the "infamy" value below it, because in some cases your fame is the fame value minus the infamy value.
Each victory in the arena nets you one fame point. IIRC each closed gate equals five points, and several steps of the MQ give you more fame. I ended one game (including all the MQ) with 101. Note that AFAIK Thieves and DB quests do NOT five fame - but may well give infamy. Each murder (detected or not) gives 1 infamy as far as I can tell, as does each time you are caught stealing.
You need (I believe) a fame of 25 to buy the house in Skingrad, but you need a disposition of 70 from the lady in Chorrol to buy there. Disposition automatically rises with fame and falls with infamy.
