Washing the car is more tiring so you won't feel like doing it when you get back from the walk. I'd do the car first so you can take a relaxing stroll with the dog.

i could tie the dog to his pole in the front garden as well, i may go on my bike with the dog and take him for about 6 or 7 miles then, he'll love that, he is not getting as much attention as he used to cos of the baby so a big walk will make him happier

Sounds like Big Brother is watching you.

They are ok with using the internet in here so long as it's in my own time.

7 miles ! If I took mine for a 7 mile walk, the dog itself would have covered about 35 miles!!!
My dog is also rubbish on a lead, but if you let her off she will walk just in front off you and if she gets too far she will stop and wait (havent trained her to do that)

if im on the bike and near a road i have a extendable lead so he can move a bit away but not far, he is good near roads though, once i get on the field he is let off if no other dogs are about. he will stay fairly close but 9 out of 10 times will come back when called unless he's found some fox poo to roll in that stuff stinks

Our Rotty will never come back when we let her off these days. It's something she's only started doing recently. We now have to take her to a kids cycle track which is completely fenced in. The Yorkie is too scared to wander off anywhere else on his own so always comes back to our feet.

The Yorkie will run and run for ever but the Rotty is more of a sprinter and can only play for about 15 minutes max.
