It's got to be Macguires, i had micro scratches on my paint work from the hand car (not using them again) and Macguires got them out no problem.

Meguiars claybarred
Meguiars clear coat body scrub
Meguiars NXT wax
Applied body scrub and NXT with a Portercable 7424 and Sonus polishing pad

Waiting for some P21s to use as a final top coat.

Took about 3 hours in total and the finish is stunning.

Two different things anyway polish-wax.

Polish is a surface prep to get a smooth (highly polished) surface.
These come in varying grades of abbrasive (non are really abrasive though).

Then wax is a form of sealent to protect the finish, you can get natural wax's like carnuba or synthetic sealents which are the modern type of waxes and they tend to last longer.

Saying one wax is better than another is impossible as one person may find one wax suits a certain colour better than another. Remember wax is just the topper, to make a car shine it needs to be polished preferably by machines like the Porter Cable 7424 or a Rotary.

Take a look at www.detailingworld.co.uk which is very good for someone who enjoys real car care.

If your looking at just washing and then applying an off the shelf wax (halfrauds) then Meguiars NXT wax is hard to beat as it will fill slight swirls to give a very reflective surface. It will lose some of its performance after about 7 washes though.

Cool Mag NXT

Tried this after recommendations on here and was amazed with the results. Thanks Scoobynet

The blue around the front wheelarch and lower part of the doors did look that deep after doing it - it was like driving the car out of the showroom again!

Default car wax

for me ive used pretty much everycar wax there is! bit of a polishing freak i must admit, recently i tried meguairs claybar ,spent about 5 hours or more with that, the paint was as promised!! like glass smooth, then i applied the goldclass wax, fantastic results.onething i should watch now is keeping my eyes on the rd rather than looking in the wing mirrors at the shine !try it .

I use Gold Class Shampoo and condistioner, Quick Clay Detailing System, Gold Class Clear cold wax, and Hot Shine Tyre spray. I also use the
Meguiars Gold Class Super Thick Microfibre Wash Mit to was the car with plus a normal car spunge (for the grubby door bits) and a Water Magnet Drying Towel

And this is the end result...

I think the results speak for them selves.

Why does Autoglym get a bad press? I use the both the red labelled bottle and the gold label "High Gloss protection" (or something like that) and the car comes out lovely.

Tip: Use Autoglym High Gloss Protection (ie, gold label on the bottle) on your windows inside and out. The windows come up very clean and the water rolls off. I think the petroleum in the ingrediants acts as a cleaning agend too. I do it all the time and unless it's absolutely peeing it down you don't even need to use your wipers

to be honest i dont spend loads and loads on polishes and waxes etc, but i do use decent stuff, usually turtle wax etc for the body and rubbery bits. im not a polishing freak yet, but ive still got a decent size bucket full of different products for interior/exterior parts...

Personally i think AG is just to dusty. As for polishing you could either go for the BlackFire range which ( i dont think has been out over here long ) the results fromo this stuff are very very good, but range from 15-20 quid and can be bought from polished bliss. Or something like PB Pro Polish ,Clearcote Vanilla Moose Glaze/Megs No7 then a wax which is up to you,i've swayed to the XXX Hardcore Wax.

Thats the trouble with this stuff theres to many bloody options......
