Yep:
Better than all the rhymes and songs...start them at a tender age!
My daughter heard a Pilbeam with a V8 Cosworth when she was 3.
Screamed the hillclimb down....
Loves 'em now

Lol, thats the game i am playing, although it may become far more expensive as they get older
Tried doing a bit on the car last night, and didnt really get anything significant done, due to the angle grinder packing up on the 1st cut. (Last time i lend that out to someone)
Needless to say, i got thoroughly peed off with the whole thing, and at the moment, i am completely f'd off with it. Loads of stuff still to do. Bits to get sorted/ordered/delivered/etc/etc...

Simon sees an opportunity to jump ahead in the race Steven didn't know he was in to get cars sorted! lol
Only joking.. mine will be a pull old out and drop new in and all nice touches out the window at that point.. unlike your painting / power coating etc..
Although i might actually wash the engine bay..
No point rushing it Steven, what you have done so far just highlights the level of workmanship you are aiming for.. order some more bits and have a break whilst they travel to you etc..
if the angle grinder has packed up.. lend it out to anyone that wants it now

LOL re grinder. Kind of got a hint that you were getting nearer. We will both still beat Tim.
If i dont sort it now, it wont happen, i will lose interest too quickly once i have missed a few events.
Plus, i have to get it sorted, so i can finish* them fecking stables i paid for.
Steven
*finish means, backplane the land, concrete pad, and then errect the stables. Emma's brother is supposed to be sorting it, but if he doesnt, then i will pay Alan Bell to sort it for me. Its become a joke really.

waiting on heads, although haven't spoken to them for a week.. will call in and chase tomorrow.. got engine stand, got engine crane, need to collect short engine.. couple of bits to sort and then all systems go, if all the bits i have go together on the engine stand without a hitch.
stables sounds like a bigger project but somewhat more simple.

No doubt you will both be beating me to finishing...I had an epiphany today; the engine will be coming out and apart for some decent rods and pistons to go in...plus the ARC sump to be fitted...oh and some single piece valves...maybe...all depends on money
While the engine is out, the welder will go in to strengthen up the seams...
Bang goes Scoob Speed Championship for me this year

Steven's Simons or Tims, David?
Steven, I know the feeling. It's almost like an obsession sometimes. You know you've gone too far when you get grumpy with the family because things aren't going right

The knagging list goes out today
When out to the garage last night, to try and work out the fuel pipe routes, but couldnt decide on one i was happy with, because i am missing my fuel reg and a bullet filter (**** knows where) to be able to mock the system up properly. Eventually gave in after wasting an hour
Hopefully get a load done this weekend.

Ok, a few more time consuming PITA stuff done today. Largely thanks to David, who had the patience for doing the fuel lines.
Starting to get there, perhaps how it may end up.
Rivet nuts in the body work ready for the fuel filter bracket.
Draft install of filters. You can also see the bracket for the header tank, and the reg in place.
A bit less of a mess than it was first thing this morning.
DCCD ECU
**** loads of wire, god knows what David will do with that?
Another, "getting there" picture.
Fuel lines nearly complete, need a few more fittings to finish.
Cheers David

LOL, yup this is the dummy build guys. We managed to do a little bit more yesterday afternoon, although it was too frigging cold. What took ages, was working out what other stuff was needed, so now have a shopping list as long as my arm.
Now i have the diff carriers back, i can put them on tonight, then remove the engine back onto the stand, and strip the parts off that need powder coating etc.
Still on target for "start engine" one Sunday 26th
