Dry install of engine, to work out where i want stuff to go.
Engine mounts on

Use another manifold to lift it in

Its in

Another one

What needs removing from aircon bracket (found the macro button on the camera
)

Price is for the masking tape, not the engine (would be nice if it had cost that)

My manifold, brackets on, and fuel rails on.

Its a bit tight is the clearance for the throttle body, probably why the bonnet ended up scratched before.

Had a quick nap, and felt a bit better, although i still feel rough.
Lateral intercooler and rad combination.

In situe

And again. Strut brace also just sat there, so when i work out where things are going, i dont forget about it.

Chief mechanic repairing his truck

Shiny

Borrowed the pipe from the Lateral car, just to help mock things up.

Whacked a set of headers on, then put the turbo on and air filter, again to help mock things up.

Yep, thats the younger one (coming up to 4yrs). I can work with him, just give him a small ratchet and he is happy. Trolley jacks, engine hoists, gearbox jacks are all regarded as big toys by him and his brother, but they know not to mess about with them.
I struggle to work with the older one, he is too much like me mentaly (so i am told). He also never stops asking flipping questions, whining that he wants the spanner i have, etc etc.
Its quite handy our parents living near by. Emma goes off to her mums horse riding, the kids either go with her or one stays with me. They either ride their ponys or their mini quad things.
James and Tom were looking at the Scooby Magazine the other day, and they could almost identify every car in the TOTB report, to the owner of the car. Quite impressive.
It is difficult to be with the kids whilst having a hobby like this, but i think its better for them to get involved and learn, rather than spend time taking them here there and everywhere to something they may not actually like. So long as they enjoy it, we dont mind.

Steven,
Seeing as , as you say, kids learn from their parents.... it'd be very interesting to be able to look into the future and see what they're 'playing' with in 20 yrs time.....!!
Cars looking better eveyday!!!

From: Leeds - It was 562.4bhp@28psi on Optimax, How much closer to 600 with race fuel and a bigger turbo?
If we ever get round to building them something for the field with a bike engine then Id say so.. getting them into karting at a young age would be good.. although I suspect james is the wrong build!
Keep em away from 2 wheeled things if they are anything like us with 4 wheeled things!!
Ps stick that scooby mag in the car so I can have a look!

David, i am going to try and keep them away from 2 wheels. Will build them something when they are a tad older, so they can help.
Christian, its a hybrid Garrett, bit bigger than the one that was on before. I will try and get the spec from Mark.
