Very nice Steven, it brings back memories of when i built mine and is a great feeling when it all comes together.
Hope you have a great day tomorrow and the weather stays dry. Should be nice and cool to keep the engine happy.
DW
I know from speaking to you and Steven that you guys are friendly, chatty and more than willing to give out advice, just thought it odd that that comment came out but as Andy said, it may be to do with commercialism which is a different matter.
I'm an open book as far as my mods are concerned. It's all there to see. I actually phoned Andy about another matter but took the opportunity to ask him if i was digging a hole for myself at the same time cause i don't have a great memory! and he said there wasn't anything, but there's usually something or other that might never have been mentioned, like for example on a project thread.

As for my car, yes i've changed specs, but that's not been hidden. Project Stealth was done and object accomplished. What i'm doing now has no relation to that, hence i ended the thread. If there was any interest i might have put another one up, but there's plenty interesting projects on the go at the moment to keep everyone entertained, learned and amused.

Please don't think i was having a dig David, i'm not. What may have went on in the past with this Subaru tuning "game" is in the past. My whole life has changed and attitude to this hobby is different now, so anything you, or Steven, or whoever, does with their car isn't something that bothers me.
I'm genuinely interested though and am pleased when things go well for what you guys do.
I feel i'm at the end of trying out new things with my car. The car is greater than i will ever be.
You guys still have the enthusiasm which is great. Keep up the good work.

Looks like you are doing well so far Steven.

Seems to be a bunch of good mates clubbing together to help one-another out in order to achieve a quality "product".

I'd like to see the car, but it will have to wait until I'm home at the end of April. I don't know if my time home will tie up with any "days out". If not, I'll be in touch and may see the motor when I pop to see you for other stuff.

Good luck tomorrow......try not to break it. I'm sure someone will be knocking about with a video camera, so I may see some footage before I'm home eh? *hint hint*

Oh yeah....the car looks mint in the clips......those Detroit F1's don't half look big!!!

For those that saw the car today (awful weather) it will obviously be a top runner.
The old engineering addage:

'If it looks right it probably is' comes to mind.

Great looking and executed car.

Nice meeting you all, some for the first time.

ive also compiled a video for steven to upload to HIS site! Need to also suggest that a copy of the current map is saved, as I actually think it could be a pretty good 'road' map or should I say a conservative map and then have a race map

Wrote a long reply last night, but the wireless link failed and i lost what i had written, too tired to type it again.

Major traction issues, no matter what i did , best time on wet track was 12.2@118mph with a 2.00s 60ft.

Very happy with yesterdays shakedown results, and the couple of issues that were found.

Roll on more boost.

Steven

I think that's a pretty good time considering it was wet.
I tried 1/4 mile times on Saturday in the wet using an AP22 and got similar times. 60 foot was a little bit longer though! i.e. pi*h!!
Best time i got was with boost turned down, just didn't get anywhere with normal set-up.

Excellent stuff!! Well Done Steven.

Just curious, what's the line of lights on the right hand side on the centre instrument pod? Hit the top red a lot .... looks like a disassembled Knock Link?

Correct its the knocklink, which is suffering from a lot of interferance from the straight cut gearbox, bouncing off a limiter that shouldnt be there, and a twin plate clutch.

So mechanical noise is being picked up, glad it's not det! Guess you can tune the KL to be less sensitive, but would it be of benefit then...?

Whilst it was being mapped, it had two different types of knock sensors on. Pat was listening via an electronic setup and Andy was listening via det cans, and both were reporting that the knocklink was picking up noise, when they werent.

The KL should be matched to the det can readings to make it usefull.

Not at all bad for wet conditions and a shakedown run.

I noticed a slight increase in KL activity with the uprated gearsets too.

Marty, that was the dog guard in the boot (uninstalled for the camera), plus a few odds and sodds.

Bob, i was well chuffed with the progress it made, especially with no drag specific setup, eg tyres, suspension, interior removed, so its showing promise.

Issues found

Earthing issues -Causing poor feed to ecu, and missfires - now solved, but could still be better.
Odd Rev Limit - only been revved to 6800 on dyno - now solved, MSD rev limit set wrongly
Require adhesive to stick centre pod down - never needed before, but it flew off the dash a few times
Binding shoes on rear OS wheel, causing graunching
