I have total confidence that it will do very well and the car will just get better and better.

I remember seeing Mikees' car a few times last year in between maps and the improvement each time was astonishing.

Steven, sounds like you will be into the 9s when the setup is tuned right

"Require adhesive to stick centre pod down - never needed before, but it flew off the dash a few times"
Hee hee. I found that one out as well Steven!
I used clear silicone sealant. Run it round the three sides of the pod holder and then wipe away the excess once the pod's in place.
You can get it really neat and hardly see the join cause the pod fits tight.
When/if you come to take it out or need to take it out, the pod comes away easily enough and you just roll your finger over the set sealant to remove and do it all again.

Im not 100% sure about that!, Id expect a very low 10 but I doubt a 9 with the gearbox and tyres currently used.

Andy:

Start with a better base car? (EVO's just as fragile at this level?)
The thought of battling with that lot is crazy (for me) but glad you are doing it!

Graham, EVO's are just as fragile at the level andy's car is at, granted the engine is stronger but the transmission certainly isn't

Had a busy week at work, and finally got to look at the car last night, and spend a bit of time on the road seeing what the car was like. Kept everything the same, and went to Melbourne/York Dragway today for another shakedown.

Got scrutineered etc and then eventually got to the line
5500rpm and launch control is engaged, zero boost, diff locked
launch hard in 1st, wow
bang into 2nd......

......box broken, 2nd gear kindly destroyed!
Rammed into 3rd at 1500rpm, and off it went.

Managed a 15.0s @ 105mph

Car on ramps, ready to get the box out

Steven

Gears made from unobtainium sir?

Maybe you should have stuck with the 6 speed and fitted a 5 speed dog kit to it

Steven,

You're a total YOB

Paul did god knows how many 10 second runs with the same gear set up, you've done god knows how many 10 second runs in my car with exactly the same set up, and you then manage to trash yours running 1.1bar, and a 15 second run

That said, it's not a great shock, given you're the only person I know who's ripped the gear lever out during one of your "aggessive" gear changes

Mark.

And people accused me of being a holligan in your car last year, symply because it wasnt mine. Not many believed me when i said i would drive mine harder

Quite literally, teething problems, that must be overcome

You're probably the first one to put a genuine 400+ through one of Pavlos synchro boxes Steven
