Floyd, i know
Alan, its one from a six speed (with a bit removed), and it doesnt suit. The bore seems a little larger so the plunger doesnt seal too well. The slight offset also touches the converter bracket.
Its not good enough, so Andy is sending me my classic slave cylinder back, which should give the desired clearance.

That's a neat and tidy twin pump in-tank unit.
Just as a reminder (i think you know this anyway) is to have a quick check now and then with clutch clearance. I've had to adjust mine a couple of times but is no big deal and only takes a minute or so to do.

LOL fecking Indians, Sunday would be better, less chance of the fumes you expell being as postent.
Engine nearly ready to go in. Got to clean the inlet manifold, which sadly has come out a different shade in the powder coating (andy did warn me ) , but it will have to do for now.
Aimed to get home early last night, but called in at DW's to see if the diff had been mended. 2 hours later between us 2 and his dad we sorted it. Lets just say there was no way on earth the driveshafts would have gone into the diff without doing what we did.
Go give kids their breakfast and then its out to the garage.
Prey to god it gets done.

I'm looking for ward to seeing your motor out and about Steven.
I missed the thread to start with, but have gone back to the beginning and read up to date. Excellent "coverage" and detail. I am now following with anticipation.
Are you on target for having it all done, dusted, polished and ran (run?)-in for the Shootout??
Might have to bother you for your services (ooooer) when I get home again (about 22nd April) . I'd like to change gearbox and diff oils and think it would be much easier with the car off the ground!! I'd like your opinion on the gearbox whine too if you don't mind.......It might need more than an oil change.

Marty, no probs, give me a shout when you get home.
3/4 Session interval, started wrok at 8am this morning, Pat arrived around 11am, then David around 1pm. They have now just stopped for a curry break, i had a pizza.
Engine went in around 11:15, and everything has been going in since, its all looking good at the moment. Going back out to sort the rest out, with a view to having the car running by lunchtime tomorrow.
Cant believe the progress that has been made today. We have all worked fairly quickly, which meant i forgot to take some pics, but i have when i could remmber. Will post them up later.
Looking forward to tomorrow, to see the car move under its own steam again. I am also scared, as Pat is now on his 2nd curry, his eyes are watering and his face is red, god knows what the fumes will be like tomorrow!!!

That's freaky as ****.....just read your entire thread this evening and you're planning on starting it up in a matter of hours That's like not having to wait for the final episode of your favourite series
It's looking very good & i'm looking forward to tomorrows updates. Looking forward to seeing the tarty powder coating antics as well

Just brightened up an otherwise dull night at work reading through all 10 pages of this. I can only admire the effort, dedication, knowledge and ingenuity that Steven and his colleagues have put into this project. Outstanding !
Good luck with todays fire-up

I was doing fine till the last few pics..about to have breakfast.
David's 'body language' looks dodgy to me.
Fab effort and I'm sure it will be hummmin' later like a sewing machine.
One thing:
The angle of that throtle cable needs a re-think?
More report this evening please.
Graham

last two links are gash here, which is probably for the best as in the third to last it looks like David has just belched horrifically and Pat looks like he's straining at the other end, poor Emma!
Any chance of a schematic of the fuel delivery Steven?

Here's hoping for a post saying it's running soon....
Steven, it'd be great if you could host a sound file somewhere and give us a link..... or even a small movie file!!
Fingers crossed for a no little niggles or silly little leaks which take ages to fix!!
