I was still toying with the idea of comming when my big end bearing let go at 140mph on the A34 (Ala Harj). Now I need to save all my money for a rebuild. Thanks to everyone who made the last trip such a success. Oliver.

Hi all

New to Scoobynet but might have seen some of you already at the Ring over Easter – I was circulating most of the weekend in a mate’s black BM 328i.

If anyone’s interested, I am off to the Ring 29th-June/July 1st to give my newly acquired Turbo MY00 a blast. I'm staying in Nurburg quite close to Zur Burg, so if you fancy coming along in return for chipping in a bit towards the fuel/ferry costs you're more than welcome...

The place I am staying has some spaces if accommodation is tight at Zur Burg. Only thing is I’m going slightly earlier (track opens at 2.15 on Fri, I want to be there then) and coming back Sun night but still plenty of time to meet up with everyone Fri/Sat nights.

I'm coming from Oxford way, so will do M40/M25/M20, so I could pick up anywhere along/near that route. Mail me if you’re interested.

Cheers

Mike

OK, at long last. The phone number is.....0870 9046633. Please ring between 9:15 and 5-ish. The cost for the ferry, two people and three nights accomodation is £275. There are only double rooms available at the Zur Burg, so if you've asked for a single you will be sharing with someone else who has asked for a single, unless your name is Mat Oz. Mat, you've got the only single as you were voted least desirable person to share a room with. Your unique 1+2 combination will cost £382. If anyone is really opposed to sharing with a stranger then I'm afraid that it's an extra £75 or we could try to find you accomodation elsewhere in Nurburg.

If you are sharing a room with someone from another party (i.e. 1 FERRY people) the cost will be £195. Stevie your costs should be £300 for the two double rooms. John F, you're just a pain the neck because you'll probably be sharing with a 3 day person. Call it £50 for now and we'll try and sort something with the management, but you might have to pay an additional £10 say to help offset the cost of the room for the third night. Please don't write a 5,000 word reply explaining to me why this isn't fair.

Please make sure that you have your car details and passenger names handy when you call. Any additional passengers will cost £80 each. I'm away for a while so probably won't see the BBS until Tuesday after tomorrow night, so if you have any problems over the weekend Harj is your man. If you require AA Relay or travel insurance then you can book these too at the same time. I'd recommend both. When you do go please remember to take your driving licences and car insurance policies (and passports) in case anything should happen.

Stevie, apologies for the confusion with the times, my fault. It just that every P&O ferry that I have been on has left at either xx:15 or xx:45. You should be able to switch your reservation to 14:00 without problem. Any questions? Get 'em in quick before I disappear.

Andrew, this applies to you guys. So £195 each or £390 for the pair. The prices are based on the assumption that everyone is sharing.

Tim,

You're most welcome, apologies for the omission (it was Harj). Mate? He's nothing to do with me, I barely know him. Apparently he has got a new toy this time, gawd help us all. Thankfully it hasn't got the new engine yet though.

John, Harj keeps checking to see whether any more singles are available but no joy yet. We are unable to disclose the identity of the poor bugger who will sharing with you because we don't want to put him off coming. Especially since someone else will have to share with you and I might not get a long straw this time.

Who's confused??

I was!!!!!!!!

I phoned the number though and spoke to a lovely lady called Lee.

She now has all the info on our trip. It cost me £125 for the Ferry and £150 for a double room for three nights.

So give her a call and get booked.

Hello Matt

Me being a Ring Newbie, I would certainly enjoy a lap or two in the passenger seat, or at worst I'll follow you around.

Thanks, C U there.

Right, booked it!

I've also booked Joel and his girlfriend Kazumi too. I'll have to meet you guys at Dover, because I'm going to pick the guys up from Heathrow on the way down!! That's right, they're flying in from the States on the Friday morning, and then hopping straight on the ferry bound for the Ring! The dedication of some people!

Really looking forward to this one. If any of the Ring newbies would like me to sit with them for a lap or two and show them the way, I'd be happy to oblige. This offer is also extended to Harj! LOL

Don't do it....do not go out with Matt

It'll ruin your credibility being seen in that smokey old diesel, however I will have some disguise kits available should you take him up on his offer

Actually Matt is a very good driver and is superb round the ring, I'll book a lap with you please Matt

Bugger,

Forgot to phone Lee. I have already booked the ferry myself but appear to need to amend this to the 2 o'clock sailing. Do I phone Lee for accommodation? BTW, I am thick!

Hopefully the broken ribs ( last track excursion) will be more comfortable in a fortnight.

Andrew Timmins, in Wolverhampington eh? Are you playing on Sunday?

Stevie,
I hadn't planned to attend the meet on Sunday but I'll probably start to join in with these events in the very near future. Where are you in the midlands?

Lee is Leigh by the way and she knew nothing of our trip when I spoke to her on Thursday morning. She phoned me back later though when she'd received details from her boss. She booked the crossing and the room for me so ask her about accommodation for yourself.

Are there many of us going down from the Midlands? A mini convoy may be in order.

See you all soon

Spoke to Leigh this morning and hotel is now booked. Great.

It would appear you lot are chartering your own ferry as the 2 o'clock sailing does not exist! I am booked on the 2.30 but will change to the 1.45 so I can wait for you in Calais rather than try and catch you up.
