As much as I hate to say it, shall we meet at the same services on the M20 as last time?
Maidstone services I think they were called, deffinetly won't forget those seeing as the 22B dued there last time
Good place for late breakfast or early lunch then we can all trickly down towards the crossing
Harj....
PS. those who haven't booked! BOOK NOW or its gonna be too late!!!

Right then,
Joel, Kazumi and my good self will be at the services on the M20 from about 10:30 am onwards. This is because I'm picking them up from Heathrow at some un-Godlike hour on Friday morning!
Just look for the Red 330D with two jet-lagged people in it! Seriously though, we'll be grabbing some brunch there, and chilling out for a couple of hours.
Have we decided on the actual time of the ferry? I guess that it's 13:45, but not too sure.
Cheers
Matt

Tequila - I aint going there for a while. ( when Harj is about it does kinda happen though )
Guess what i am doing late thursday night?
Fitting a god damn new radiator to the westie, i am having a new F1 cored rad made so hopefully, fingers crossed etc.. i will be able to do more than one lap every 30 minutes or so.
It would be great to start a run on warm tyres, the first mile has always been well dodgy for me to date.
Cant wait now, you guys gonna be up bloody late friday night is all i can say.
Richard, you ordered your incontinence pants yet? LOL
As to Joel and his Girlfriend, travelling this way from Seattle sucks ***, expect some snoring Matt and it wont be just down to your company. LOL

OK guys,
I am not intending to use my car next weekend as
a) it is 3 months old
b) I have broken ribs and they hurt
c) I cannot drive all that well
However , I am not too bothered about this and so need some advice. My WRX has done just over 10000 miles so I only have 3-4mm left on the SO2's. Brake Pads will be ordered from Pete Croney tomorrow and I shall take these as spares ( I think ) rather than putting them on before going.
My concern is tyres. Part of me says take 4 new spares and change at the Ring when the SO2's are no good, part of me is saying change before I go and leave the SO2's at home for a future trackday and ruin the new set and part of me knows how much pain I am in so dont worry about tyres!
Whichever way I look at it, I am going to use the car on circuit. Can I have some suggestions on tyres please as I aint got a clue.
PS, If helpful suggestions are not forthcoming any sarcastic comments will also be greatly appreciated!!
Cheers

First off, ferry is 2:30 as there is no 2:00.
Stevie, you may very well get by with 3-4mm of tread without requiring a tyre change as it is your first visit and it takes most people some time to find the limits at the 'ring. Tyres are expensive in the locality when you can find them.
If you are a lunatic and have room, bring all 4 spares. If you have some degree of restraint you will get away with changing the fronts or maybe even be able to drive home on your original tyres. The tarmac does not appear to be as abrasive as that on the UK circuits.

Dont worry Richard, i have that section well memorised now.
Just installed a front anti-rollbar to my westie. As usual it had to be modified, as did my bodywork in order to fit.
Sometimes it's a pain in the *** owning a one off special.
Pondering on fitting a rear anti-roll bar before friday? I think the two combined should add some speed in the fast corners, not sure the ring is the right place to test out my thoughts though?
Looking forward to the weekend, if my radiator works then it should be the bollox.

Stop reminding me that there's only 3 days to go, the engine is still in a mate's shed! It's true Rich, it's on Scoobynet so it must be).
This smacks of being a Felstead special. How many bits have you got to put back on your car John?

Right now i have no Radiator, that is being manufactured in cannock at the moment, i get that back on thursday so its a case of install that thursday night! I hope they get the mounts and pipes spot on otherwise i am gonna have to start fabricating again
i need to make some diferent mounts for that too as the rivnuts in the bodywork pulled through when i stripped the old rad off the car, so i now need some captive titanium aircraft spec jobbies installing.
The car has no nose cone, intercooler, radiator, cooling ducts, oil in the engine, air filter installed so plenty to do there.
Also my rear bodywork mounts have broken at dono so i have to manufacture some spreader plates and buy some steel rivets to take the loading. I also need to make some new mounts for the rear number plate bracket because those broke too.
Think thats it for now?
I am not installing the rear anti-roll bar kit, found out today it comes with brackets you have to weld to the chasis near the fuel tank, i dont fancy ripping the tank out right now, it takes a while with my rather complex twin pump and swirlpot fuel system.
Just a normal week before a track day.
Icing on the cake is i have to work all day friday, god, i am gonna be bolloxed by the time i get there.

Oi John, don't forget my drift...
I'll need that to change the brake pads...or fix your front wing again
Currently in training...ie getting more sleep than normal to compensate for what's going to be happening

Stevie, bring the 2 best tyres with you, I did last time and saved Rainbowman's weekend
Bringing 2 new ones this time, hopefully one will be on a rim, because my 2 rears are 1.5mm off the wear bars...and the way my car's behaving now they're as good as dead
