Although patch 1.2 included several fixes that we know were eagerly awaited, it unfortunately introduced some new issues. These are being addressed immediately and we are working around the clock to resolve those. Patch 1.21 (coming soon) will be tested in a limited beta with select Battlefield community members starting as early as this week. We’re doing this to ensure a clean release of 1.21. In addition, we have decided to postpone the Euro Force Booster Pack until sometime after the release of the updated 1.21 patch.

On a more pleasant note, Battlefield 2 hit somewhat of a milestone last night with over 52,000 simultaneous players. This is the highest number of players we’ve seen at one time for Battlefield 2 and almost 4 times more than the peak number of Battlefield 1942.

Well at least they're getting on the case quickly.
If you think about it, when you look at the stats tracking, the variety of vehicles/planes/helis/boats/guns/infantry types etc... And the physics involved, collision detection, up to 64 player maps etc... this is one hell of a game engine!
I'm not really surprised they get bugs with new releases, although this last patch seems to be on a par with patch 1.01

Agreed, at least they've let us know quickly that they're working on the bugs.
I played a little last night and to be honest, it never really interfered with my game.
I even went on the SNAFU server early on to experiment on the best areas to shoot tanks and APCs with a TOW
I also parked a couple of helicopters on top a storage silo for a bit of practice with flying

The ranking thing is weird. I went from PFC to Lance Corporal in one game and it was nigh on the first shot when I got promoted!
Oh, and somewhere down the line I picked up a Bronze Star! I *think* it may have been one of the SNAFU games (one of the ones when I WASN'T get picking on )

I got banned from a Server last night for excessive TK!!! I hadn't killed ANYONE by that point...
Mind you - I think it was a bunch of kids playing because the moment I started playing I noticed that people on my 'team' were targetting me... best out of those kind of crappy games.

Couldn't even get a game plast night. Whenever I tried connecting to the server it just crashed out to the desktop.
Thought I'd fixed it by doing a single player game then joining the server, which worked for about 5 mins then it just dropped back to the desktop. Gave up after that.
Others were experiencing the same thing though.

Very odd - MortuumMorgue had to reinstall PunkBuster last night, due to similar issues. I wonder if the PB client db can be corrupted and end up causing loads of issues!?

make sure you do what Badcompany suggested - BF2 doesn't like things like Norton producing pop-ups in the background... I disable 'auto-protect' whilst playing BF2 and pop up alerts in NIS.
