I like it. Although it's a shame they've not implemented the being able to pick up C4 etc. The improved AA guns are actually worth trying to use now!

Voice over IP is disabled on the SNAFU server as it caused too much lag. We do use a seperate TeamSpeak server though.
On other servers that have VoIP enabled, it's just a matter of assigning the "press to talk" button in BF2

 

Thanks for that... next dumb question: how do you get the medic to revive someone?

I can heal them holding the bag, but what about when they are down and you can revive them?

Got my 2nd medal today Basic combat medic... I spent more time shooting than healing I think.

 

You have to select the shock paddles from your kit, then click fire over their corpse, for 600 Kilojoules of life after death goodness !

Quite a few on last night, was a good game, but as you say, one side did dominate... until the last round, where the other side did - at which point the other team started complaining!

Got in yesterday morning from a weeks hols, downloaded the 1.2 patch and the problems which previously seemed confined almost solely to the SNAFU server, was now on most I tried. Got on to the SNAFU server at 20.30, but gave up after 10 mins / a dozen lost connnections, so spent the rest of the evening reinstalling and re-updating the game. I'll try tonight and see what happens, but I'm starting to wonder if my XP64 OS might be to blame or maybe my shonky DIY telephone extension into the study ...

 

He WAS picking on me I bleeding SAW him pass overhead and circle BACK just to drop a whole load of cluster bombs on my head! (and THEN some git had the cheek to drop a blasted artillery barrage as well!!!)

Besides - it wasn't when i said he was picking on me that you told me to calm down - it was when I told him to "sod off"

This new patch has added a couple of major bugs... I hope v1.2.1 is released soon!

It does point towards XP 64 being the issue - I'll set up a poll to see what people are using in the clan.

What bugs are we talking about? I did notice that I was dropped out of games once I installed 1.2, and I never did before.

I hope my stats for those games was saved as I was doing really well in a couple of them, i actually topped a score of over 100 for the first time in one game

Oh, I got promoted to PFC six times in the end. It finally showed up in my HQ screen after the SNAFU game

I really did enjoy those games last night - even when I was getting bombed on a regular basis.. I can't complain as I haven't taken the time to learn to fly myself yet (aerial gunner, no probs - in control... the only thing I can consistently hit is the ground)

 

well appart from the TOW causing server crashes on some levels and the helis on Surge (BF2 SF) being unusable (lags something awful now), theres a few others - on the whole though the patch was an improvement on game play. Although the AA guns on Ghost town have made the helis pointless on that level.

The stats servers have been a little flakey since v1.2 being rolled out - which has been the same each time they've patched - so should settle down - thats why the PFC was achieved several times

Thanks, I may bin my legit XP64 anyway - can't get a driver for my all-in-one printer ("it's 2 years old - waddaya expect????"), or the Logitech webcam, so I may get round to reformatting with my old copy of XP until Vista comes out

Hmm.. thats another 'feature' - it may help removing the 'cache' directory under 'My Documents\Battlefield 2', then starting the game again - google it, fair bit of info online.
