What sort of issues would you have insuring 2 cars?
It's easy if you can get one as a classic, but if you cant I imagine it can get expensive.

FTR I have size 10 feet and the pedals were only an issue for about 2 days. It seems natural now and heel and toeing would be a cinch if I knew what I was doing
Also - No Burberry necessary

Sorry
My sis had a VTS and it never felt that quick or special.
Gary - Pug has been in bits through choice tbh. I bought it as something to rebuild, to increase my mechanical knowledge, hence i'm taking my time with it and doing it properly. Not knowing so much beforehand means I have to read about stuff, then do it rather than judt diong it
I could've just bought an unknown Mi16 unit (which is what most do, and why they breakdown a lot), then stuck it in and away we go, but its been fun doing it the proper way, albeit costly so far.
From my POV, I dont have a great deal of spare time, so cant fiddle with the car in the evenings/weekends as i'd like.
A car is as reliable as you make it generally - get a good one of anything and you are fine - just look at C_W's Mi16 - numerous trackdays without problem.

Also look at
Honda civic 90-92 VT. 150-160bhp, very very reliable.
Honda CRX 16v/VTEC.
The VTECs can mak 170-180bhp ish with manifold, exhaust, induction and IIRC teg r inlets. Full poly bush kits are $80 off ebay.COM. Full set of GAZ coilovers £480. Rover 623 brakes £120, and some Ferodo DS2500 pads £80 ish.
Worth a look My CRX was track ready when sold (16v) for very little.

Actually I think that quite a few road testers loved the MK3 Vr6 and it's hugely torquey delivery and changing the suspension to something like Koni adjustables (rather wise with an old car on a racetrack anyway) is only about £600 .... Most of the Pug boys seem to do this too!
I am a huge fan of the 205 - but for long fast circuits it does have it's limitations .... (BTW - I have also owned a 205GTi 1.9 and 2 x Golf VR6's - as well as a Mk2 GTI16V and I have just helped a mate build a 205 GTi with the Mi16 engine as a track toy)!
You pays your money - you takes your choice .......

Anyway, if you want a VR6 you might as well buy the decent one, the Corrado

The Corrado is a great road car - but as they are more valueable and actually weigh 55kg more than the Golf - I couldn't recommend it!
Also once you have gone past a chip change / throttle body / cone filter the power difference (of the 2.9 over the 2.8) shrinks from 16bhp to less than 5bhp. This makes a mildly tweaked Corrado slower than a Golf with the same tweaks!
Next!

Well just go and read your own posts - or better still - read a few of Guttman Pugs - he seems to know what he is talking about.
