As the saying goes, "There aint no replacement for displacement"

Get a RS6 engine in a scoob if you want to match him

May be worth noting those are theoretical figures and not actual figures.....

According to them my S14 with 330 odd bhp should do the quarter in 12.5 secs..... which it really doesn't

My M.D. has one and we went for a drive to Milton Keynes. What impressed me was the instant throttle response. He kept punching the accelerator and then backing off... we didn't get to go fast but the memory of that sound and that response will stay with me for some time....

But no they are not that quick across the 1/4. I believe the launch is pretty crap.
Check this out if you want to compare a Scoob to the RS6 - I just love this site!!
Keep going back to try the latest car as they keep updating it..

(Oops just tried it and it seems the RS6 has broken down... hopefully they'll fix it soon. In the meantime enjoy any other model you choose...)

Scoobys are great fun cars, but you are just going to look silly if you try and race RS6's, M5's etc in a rolling start straight line!
WBM,

My point exactly...i pulled along side this thing not knowing much about it and decided it looked good for a bit of fun. If you read my earlier post i actually wrote that the RS6 driver must have pi**ed himself laughing.
As i said before..Note to self: Don't race cars you know nothing about!!

An RS6 would slaughter 99% of scoobs beyond 100mph, and that is in standard form. If it were tuned it would kill the remaining 1%..
http://www.einszweidrei.de/audi/mtmars6cs2004-1.htm

This one with 580 PS seems to be about the same to 100, 160 and 200 km/h as my car in the wet with 434 BHP and a passenger. Not surprising given similar power to weight ratio. Beyond 125 mph (approx 200 km/h) it should pull away nicely though. Autobox is probably a loss on launch in OEM spec and a gain on gearchanging. Re lag, this spec of mine had full boost by 3000 RPM, probably similar to the tuned RS6 which would be on bigger turbos than stock presumably. There are several Scoobies I can think of that are faster than mine. The example MTM RS6 is also I believe internally stripped and caged, so perhaps a Scooby with A/C, full interior and a stereo would be as comfortable

RS6 is of course luxurious and actually has an image, but don't assume the old Scoobies can't compete in purely performance terms, except at very high speeds, which I would happily lose out on for the gain in agility at lower speeds.

It is an apples and pears argument of course, but threads like these always are.

Never raced either RS4/6 in my 996 C2. But did race a RS4 in a 996 GT3 CS, as you would expect, the GT3 pulled away very hard, I was shocked at just how much the GT3 pulled away from the Audi. Is the RS6 a lot faster than the RS4?
