I let my 10yr old rag the ****e out of it round the garden, between the trees in the orchard, past stables, round the pool, back past the croquet lawn, through the servants gardens, and then upon his arrival back at the house, should be warm enough for me to drive it to work nose to tail round the m25 at average speed of 4mph. lol

Harvey, it seems to be telling me it is quite happy at present. It is only silly boost it doesn't seem to like, which is understandable on a factory motor. Don't see anyone doing higher mileage on the same motor at similar power to compare. I doubt headgasket failures are to do with warm up routines.

When you drove it you gave it more throttle when the oil was in the 60s C than I do. I didn't mind, it felt fine.

There must be a lot of sickning TDi engines out there as I don't know anyone who knows realises (or care's) about the importance of warming up let alone cooling down..! It's completely alien to most people I know, they think I completly bonkers..!
Mechanical sympathy is very thin on the ground these day's.

Strangely, they only seem to care when faced with a bill for 2-3K for an engine rebuild and have to walk everywhere
