Bolt-on 360 bhp x 330lbft: Phase one started.
Can't show you the pic off Ebay now, but the box for sale stated 'P1' and the steel top cover on the box had the loom coming out of it.
Trans code was TY752VB5BA
If indeed the trans was without DCCD then I feel better at loosing it.
Would a straight Sti V2 box be any different to my current stock V3 box, as there is a shattered V2 on ebay with stripped 2nd (box is pictured apart)
Not actually fussed too much about DCCD.
Be much easier to get a 6 speeder!

Graham,
6 speed to heavy, stick with your original plan IMO, By the way have you taken any readings of your cold air since fitting the FMIC, (did you ever fit inlet manifold insulators/spacers),.

Have just wieghed my stock 5 speed with c/diff and no oil, came in at 126lbs, so the 6 speed must be bl**dy heavy, (Fuzz must be Mr gonads now.
) anybody ever wieghed one, would be interesting to compare the two,.John

Thanks Mark: glad I didn't buy it! Pity it wasn't described correctly.
Had a genuine offer of a shattered V5 box today. See what that entails.
John:
No, I have it on now so job done.
I think there are several variables involved in measuring the temps, and the best bit is that it boosts much lower down which might be more to do with the mapping than anything else.(?)
I don't have spacers etc on this engine, but if the inlet came off then a set of Carl's would go on.
Mark:
does it work yet?

Managed to bench press mine into position
so cant be "that heavy" as I aint no he-man.
What do you mean by Mr Gonads John??
edit to add I am still running the 5spd flywheel / clutch, no need to change that.

Wife is fully supportive of the hill climbing lark, but is terribly practical too...
She knows I need this box, and the slicks that follow it and then the 2.5/2,33 etc.
She actually likes motorsport, but understands the way the games are played too...
Bit like Tom n Gerry.
Andy: You only need one seat for the 'Ring.(I hear because you are so frightenly fast!)

No - but the Subaru is very close to running, I'm starting to get excited
Yes - the Clio now has the Spider cup engine in and is running. Did not start at first and worked it through in a methodical fashion, shock horror.
I'll PM you a link for the gearbox ID

A 5 speed is more like 40kg, 6 speed 70
Bit odd re weights on the boxes.
A 5 speed i weighed was in the region of 75 to 80 kg, and a 6 speed was 20kg more.
You saying that a 5 speed weighs nearly 20stone?? No chance IMO.
I am not the strongest person in the world, but there is no way i could heave 126kg about like i can a 5 speed.
Your scales must be fubarred

Touching up my engine..as you do..at the hill climb today, it was really surprising just how hot the inlet is after a run.
Question:
Any temps of the manifold before and after fitting insulators?
Hoping Carl is watching this:
Carl, do you do a kit of gaskets/isulators/bolts for the Sti v3 and do you do the insulators for the header tank too?
Have to say the engine ran really sweetly today

What are you both doing?
I'm out giving the car death and you are both at home weighing boxes!
Having said that, the box in the car is still perfect so maybe this engine is a 300 x 300 unit?
