I've blatted a number of times with a good mate of mine who comes on here who has 345bhp STI7 and we are completely even through every gear!! As witnessed at Santa Pod!!

When will people stop trying to dig the WR1 into the ground as a sh!te car when the simple fact of the matter is that it isn't and is an amazingly fast motor with figures that have been proved!!

Guy on here called Brian the Snail who has tested his WR1 totally to prove the prodive figures. Which he did!!

WTF...

Wasn't going to bother but "completly desrtoyed it!!!!!!!!"

Now WTF have your 16 extra ponnies been feeding on... LOL

Thats the daftest F ing thing i've heard on here... you for defo have been reading too many prodrive figures... maybe you pulled away slowly. maybe made 20ft but thats not destroying it really is it... MMMmmmmm ok we defo need to do a drag strip for the "saw you at the traffic lights simulation..." with video car

Don't know who it was and can't be bothered to seach, but one of you guys did mention about rolling roads and a WR being at 335+ bhp...
Maybe you got the one that prodrive supplied for autocar and the one prodrive used for thier figures... certainly the EVo in the clarkson vid was not an FQ300 no way...
Sticky has had two and they are both even in performance with my PPP... nothing in it!

I'm more than willing to supply my bog standard STi ppp to settle the argument... and if you find that daft then why the hell harp on about rolling road figures... isnt that just hypocritical

I really don't give a flying $%£$% if the WR1 is a bit quicker than anything...

What i'm interested in is: is it possible to make a car with 8bhp per tonne more do 0-100 in 2.5 seconds less! an and I'm sure almost all other performance car enthusists will be interested in the same...! its no good bragging that yours has somehow escaped the factory with a stpendous bhp increase and have all the other wr1 chums hudled around a rolling road can we have some undisputed video of a such a car destoying a 8 FQ300... or PPP sti... thats the real pudding

not for any malicious reason nor to upset anyone, just for the pur fun of it... thats why we most of us like vs threads and articles in mags... and why a performace car is such and generates numbers!

I would dearly love for the wr1 to do a 10 second 100 run, and find out how it did it...
But only in one test did it get near.. ! also i recall EVo testing all the tuned offerings buy the various sooby tuners and only the highly tampered with cars got deep into the 12's on the vbox...

Any thoughts

the p1 was my first subaru so stupidly did not get much discount only £1500,mats and a tank of petrol but got my present subaru for a good deal less.
the wr1 i drove is a dealer demo with 1500 miles on and allegedly is a good one with "340bhp" according to the dealer and has been "well run in" .i reckon it should be loosened up by 5-10,000 miles although i was allowed to drive it as i wanted. the dealer was going to drive mine after and he thinks mine delivers the power a bit more brutally than the wr1 which i have to admit is smoother than mine but mine has more top end power.i am more than happy to trawl around subaru garages to test drive wr1'sto find one that does 0-100 in 11.6s but my wife would not be happy!!
i am sure mike wood said the results obtained on a wr1 were not figures that could be produced all the time due to clutch etc

I must admit I agree with everything dazza's said hence my first post I have raced a Wr1 dazza was their and if that car does 0-100 in 10.6 seconds then ive got A BLOODY FAST FACTORY WARRANTIED MY02Sti!!!!... Lets get to a proper drag strip with the video's and settle manno a manno....

Wink That may also explain..........

Why the thread on here inviting allcomers to a WR1 rolling road shootout has some empty slots for the 6 reserved for WR1's...

Anyone got any Wr1 1/4mile times apart from the one I've seen do 13.292 at 100.17mph?

Spotted this thread a few days ago and looked like loads of people were getting upset so I thought I'd stay clear.
Amazed to see the war of words still rages on, can't we all just get along

My first testdrive of an Impreza was a modified Sti with 18" Wheels and PPP. The car was amazingly quick but I felt the suspension was a bit soft.
I was fortunate to testdrive a WR1 a few weeks later. Both cars felt quick but the WR1's power seemed to arrive later and harder (if that makes any sense) and the Prodrive suspension was exactly what I was looking for.

As far as justifying the £5K extra price tag:

DCCD
Prodrive Suspension
PPP (a fraction more power than standard)
18" Wheels
Unique interior/exterior design

All adds up close to £30K plus I get a limited edition car which will hopefully hold it's price a bit better.
The final decision to buy one was insurance. An Sti with PPP and 18" Wheels was double the insurance of the WR1!

Personally I prefer the WR Blue but Electric Blue has grown on me.

I'm happy with my choice but am under no illusions about how quick my car is. The trend for performance vehicles is on the increase and mine is nowhere near the top of the food chain.
