Question MY05 STI

Has anyone placed an order for the new MY05 STI Type UK??? If so what prices have people been able to get them for and from where. I have been offered a number of MY04's for around £23k from the dealer however I intend to hang on for the 05 version (read its got the Spec C suspension with DCCD - however list is going up by 1K?)

Any help much appreciated before I go round the dealers again (can't wait till Dec 1st to get rid of the company car!!!!!)

Yeah, with a 2.5 litre, 350bhp engine standard on all UK models. Hang on till 2006 if I were you. Remember you heard it here first right..

Not sure on the spec but i did read a couple of months ago that there is a new shape coming in either '06 or early '07.

Who's to say that an '06 or '07 car will actually be better, though? If it meets Euro IV emissions then it'll probably have an even further detuned, strangled engine than the current Type UK, it could have the nasty front end from Zapatinas' concept cars, and more than likely it'll be heavier and slower than the current car.

So, if you like the look of the STI right now, then buy one. The '05 is well worth waiting for - in fact you can probably order one right now. DCCD-A is an option (a price of £1000 is expected) and I'd strongly advise ordering it - it'll make it easier to sell as well as more fun to drive. You could even get a JDM car instead and get the new, improved twin scroll turbo engine too. (I am )

Litchfield Imports - current list price is £26,995 otr, which includes security, UK fuel remap, SVA etc.

1 year warranty is included, but can be extended (via a 3rd party) to 3 yrs. Given the horror stories I've heard about engine failures and warranty companies refusing to pay out, I'm inclined to keep the money and put it towards an engine or gearbox rebuild if one becomes necessary.

That's very true.

Do you know roughly how much the extra 2 years warranty is?

Can't remember - sorry. I do remember it seeming expensive, maybe £600 or so.
