Rip-off Britain..........what can be done?
#32
Let's suppose I DO order from the states. OK, I won't have european warranty, (so I'll chuck it away and buy another one from the states if it goes wrong, they're about half price off US websites: ), but what am I likely to pay in duty carriage etc etc on something costing about £500?

cant be arsed to read entire post, too p!ssed.
States pricing has and most likely always will be, cheaper than UK.
Same dollar price as uk for TV's, DVD's, PC's, DVD's etc., never the case of "rip off britian". Compare pricing to France Spain etc. which is "rip off Britian" in comparision.

I have been told that Jessops are very good for good deals on digital cameras, might be worth a look.
In my experience, by the time you have paid the import duty and VAT and shipping, the savings you make are minimal and there is always the worry of the guarantee etc.
