Cars looking very nice Maddy, I read that you got to the short list for car of the day ..

looks like I'll be able to make the meet this month, but will probably be coming straight from work, ariving at about 8:30 ish hopefully

Well... I went to the clinic yesterday, and I was very impressed with the mechanic/oily type fella who serviced my car, he treated it as if it were his own.

I had...

new plugs
oil
oil filter
diff oil
gearbox oil
fuel filter
and a set of new front grooved discs

Just over £400 for the lot

I was going to finish my decat off by having the centre removed but he didnt have the part in that I needed so I'll order one for when I have my MOT done there next month

the only problem I have with them is that.. I turned up on a lovely sunny day, with my scoob gleaming..and I left after 6 1/2 hours with it dusty as hell, and I was starving (must take grub next time)

small price to pay though

highly recommended

Sticky.. any news on the Evo ??
and dont forget my card at the meet

Phil

HB, can't one get one's staaaaff to does such chores?

Phil, the WYPCOC thing was intended to be tongue in cheek, a bit like the acronym, but if it's got people thinking thenperhaps it's worth discussing.

Cards being prepared soon. New machine arrives today, so window stickers will be available for the next meet. Just need a nice monster PC to run the thing. (Hi Daz)

Maddy, congrats on making the shortlist. Car's looking
I'm sure I've seen a film with those two bints in...

hawkeye - Most info on us can be found on our site (click 24 June on the calendar for address) or on our forum (check events or again, the calendar). You'll need to set up a user name and passwords for each, but you can use the same ones to save confusion. There's usually a convoy down to the Bridge from the Holmfield Arms, Wakefield leaving at about 7.10pm for a 7.30 arrival.
If you still aren't sure about either of the whereabouts, let us know where you are and we'll see who's nearest to chaparone you

Nice to welcome another new attendee

I agree that this is a good idea and that the term Imprezza Owners Club does limit the potential membership. We have Andy's FQ, Kel's RS & Ian's F355. Each of these cars is a fantastic addition and adds great value & enjoyment.. (especially the Ferrari quick lap of Huddersfield... )

It's not just about the cars, but the people as well..

Down side is that every Chav & his Corsa might want to join.

Is this something we want to guard against? Should we ensure that new members were 'vetted' for non-chavness and being able to fit into our way of thinking & socialising? This in itself may seen extreme and arrogant... so more discussion required.

We have a superb non-clique group with no major personalities or ego's spoiling the mix... It's been mentioned a few times that we are pleased/proud to call each other friends...

For my part & IMO.. I feel that changing the name is just natural evolution (Bloody Evo's gets everwhere ) These different cars will add so much more to the club... I also feel that there is nothing wrong with protecting the membership by ensuring that only people with our particular values can join. If someopne wants a McDonalds cruise, then there are plenty of places we can reccomend.. Not arrogance, just protecting our exclusivity..

This is potentially a big move... can I ask for more thoughts here and a decision on the 24th?

This will also prevent Andy from knocking cards and stickers up with an old name until after it's been discussed...

Could'nt agree more Alan. I was going to bring Helen's new Mini Cooper S to one of the meets - once it's run in...

Again - not to rub anyone's nose in it - just so genuine people can have a good close-up look - since if you're into cars, you like looking at all nice cars.

It's defo as much about the people as anything else. It's just that these "Scoob" clubs seem to attract the right kind of like-minded people when compared to some others I've seen...

Guys - I can but agree 100% with the sentiments expressed here. It's more than the cars, although they have done a very good job of uniting us in the first instance. It's more the friendships that have been forged as a result of our common interests.

I think it was Andy A that coined the phrase about 'privilege' and 'friends'. He's absolutely right, of course - just a shame he's got an Evo....

There's always one.

Let's go with it, and start with an immediate ban on porkers.

Okay, HB, let's see who's laughing now...

That phrase must have been 'I had the PRIVILEGE of seeing the last episode of FRIENDS on C4'

BTW. The problem with the Evo has been traced.

Off the road since last Monday. Forced to use the wife's inferior mode of transport , Fifty bl00dy quid to get it trailered over to Smelby, and the cause of all this...

A dodgy fuse. FFS!!!!!!

Not 'blown' as such, indeed it looked okay when held up to a light, but nackered all the same.

Now, a fuse. Simple item. Not exactly rocket science, is it. Go to Mitsubishi dealers and ask for one at parts..... Can't get one till f'kin Friday!!!!!!!

IT'S A FUSE FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sigh

Sorry David, I missed this..

I meant it quite literally. That we do have a superb non-clique group with some great cars and no major personalities or ego's spoiling the mix, and it does seem to get better each meet.. I also feel that everyone gets on superbly well as we've had some great meets and other doo's (BBQ, Footie Pizza , Karting, Dales runs etc) outside the normal club meet. Maybe no different to other clubs.. but we like it!

What do you think it means?

I know why Andy.... It's 'cos the Parts Dept is stacked full of oil and filters.... There ain't room for them to keep any fuses in stock....

WANKA ???

now look what you started Sticky

It took me bloody ages to get the forums working, looks like I'm going to be starting all over again.

new header, colour scheme..etc

oh well, I suppose it'll keep me from the Mc D's carparks revving the nuts off my scoob while wearing every bit of burburry known to man

should be a challenge

Phil

BTW.. glad to hear your getting the Evo sorted at last....can I have them seats yet ???

well it depends what you mean by
no major personalities or ego's spoiling the mix
What is classed as a major personality? is it proportional to post count or number of friends on scoobynet? as thats the way it reads.

David. As stated mate, with no reading between the lines needed.. simply just that the group has none of those type of people.

There was no reference to any other group or individual...

All the best..
