Without going into it too deep, it appears that most plug designs sit shallow as standard, looking at the Denso www it appears that they call for a 19mm thread length which will be better but not perfect

simon,
can I ask why exactly you undertook this project? was it purely to have the best of all worlds ie. better drivetrain with lower weight?
why bother with the dash and the engine? why not stick with standard electronics? or was that the only way to get the dccd-a across?

(and counting...)No to be honest it's bit of - light car / best base engine (now the modded 2.5lt so best heads with biggest CC's...) making a really good road car, it was also a bit of "because I can" / "because it's there" and finaly because of Jun's 200mph try-out in New Zealand, I thought it would be fun to do 200mph...
As for the dash, it was kind of "it's there - I may as well stick it all in and make a proper job of it"

Seriously i have about 5 to 10mm clearance on mine, but once the up pipe is hot, the wastegate starts tapping the bulkhead.
