Simon, have you found a decent damping setup for the Öhlins yet?

Hi Conrad

Yes I go it, I was thinking about what to say to you, I am answering on here because I have had several e-mails along the same lines and it's easier to do it "in public" (oo err misses) than keep sending out e-mails that are all essentially the same.

I would suggest that at the very least you will need to get the correct loom's for the engine and ECU you intend to use, making the loom would be a pain to say the least, I use's as much 03MY as I could, fabricating only when absolutely essential.

I do have a concern with answering these kind of Q's though, I know this is the UK and I don't expect to get sued if you (or others) injure themselves trying to replicate or do something similar to me, however, I would say "if you have to ask - you should not be doing it"

Please don't take offence at that but I really do not want to be held responsible if your car was to be off the road for months or costing hundreds to put right because "Simon said it's really really easy"

Cheers

Simon

Öhlins, hmmmmm, interesting!

I'm using the P1 springs which help, I also have the 03MY JDM front and rear bars on the car, balence is quite good.

I'm currently tweaking the damper setting's and geometry to give a better launch, it's not "hooking up" properly

Cheers

Simon, no worries on that front m8, I have the ECU and correct engine loom(s) and also the ECU pinouts, just looking for a few pointers as to any potential hurdles I might come into, not a problem as I was a sparky in a previous life. Not looking for Prodrive recommendations LOL but info purely because you as an individual have done something similar, Only difference is I wont be using the dash Dont have your parts bin.....LOL

Cheers

Yes, I realise that Just thought i'd tweak him a bit!

Not everyone will like it, that's cool, that's what making changes is all about though IMHO, the point is it's almost unique

Cheers

Dont say that Simon, am I wasting my time putting this V7 motor in my classic for nothing??????

try these old fashioned remedies....

A: Go on a diet
B: Put the car on a diet
C: As Jon says, ditch the small turbo and put a large one on

LOL

Well as soon as I have better intercooler sealing i'll increse the boost (over 6k rpm) and see what effect that has. When you launch it and accelerate it's over 6k in all gears accept 1st anyway.

Diet? It's already 1239 but I do agree that it needs to be less
