I've certainly seen an app that worked on a Nokia 6310

Whether or not the old bill will go that far for a simple RTA is another matter - but theres nothing to be lost by pushing them towards it

Glad everyone is ok

Red face

Morning peep's, or is it afternoon ??..anyways. developments over the weekend,
Went looking for doc's to produce at Police station, MOT cert....runs out Feb23rd, i thought it was in march, but its still legal so 1 scare down, next scare is can't find insurance policy, found cover note dated 13/06/03 when i brought the car for her, but problem is it's in the old reg number N---KFB, her reg is K--EJK which i sorted with DVLA the next day and notified her Ins Co. who said no problem new doc's on way just return the old one's, well searched high and low for the policy...nothing. So went down to the brokers yesterday to get it sorted and luckily for me they had Emma's new reg number on file, so printed off new cover note and also old one to prove it belongs to the same vehicle.

Took the papers in just now and explained to the lady behind the desk why her cover note is dated yesterday and not 13/06/03.
Cool all sorted no problems, number 2 scare down.

Now as were TPFT on this car we were given a number to call rgds unisured losses and getting a hire car and her car fixed, wife phoned them explained to them all that had happened, told them that she has admitted to the police that it was her fault andher phone rang so she picked it up but dropped it, gave her all the details of the other driver to check, she then said wil contact Norwich Union to confirm policy,
well she rang back and Norwich Union have turned round and said the numptie on the fone has told them that the accident was down to MY wife driving on thw wrong side off the road and that she was never on the fone nor did it ring, WTF is this woman on ? can she not remember that she told the officer that it was HER fault, and that she dropped the fone on the floor and photo's were taken at the scene........

Phoned traffic up and explained whats happened they are going to get photo's mailed to me A.S.A.P to back up our version of events and also they will spk to the officer who took the statements to get a copy of that as well,as they say everthing she told them will have been noted down and recorded, but she's not due back on till Saturday.

I know ur not supposed to admit fault, but what the hell is she on?, we found out from our compamy that is also is only TPFT so this is why we now think she's changed her mind, but little does she now we have 2 witnesses (not to the accident) but who came out of there house, after hearing the crash thinking it was there car that was hit, who heard her say "i picked up the fone cos it was ringing but dropped it".

Oh yes hubby still hasn't turned up ? drove ast her house yesterday, no sign of life or Sierra,
bloody good job he didn't turn up yesterday or the missus might have whacked him after hearing that

Par for the course I'm afraid. Out of the 4 or 5 accidents in the last year or so involving people I know who were not at fault, in every single case the person at fault has apologised at the scene and then lied afterwards despite any evidence against them. Every time.

I'm not sure how much the insurance companies have to do with it but I think generally its a sad reflection of what many people are like.

This is why its so important to get all the evidence you can because you should asume that 9 times out of 10 the other party will lie. Don't let them move their car until you have all the pictures/witness you can get. If they try and move it then call the police to get an expert witness.

<cynical mode ON>

Of course, it wouldn't be her insurance company telling her to deny any wrongdoing now would it The insurance companies try to get 50/50 blame these days IMHO to minimise their losses. Seems you have to fight for a no-blame claim in these less-ethical times.

Didnt she admit to picking the phone off the dash / floor whatever???

Shes admited to HOLDING the phone whilst driving. The only legal way to use a phone, for text or voice is with it secured in a specific holder, it cannot be in your hand or lap even with a hands free or bluetooth headset.

Be interesting to see the male to female prosecution ratios for this type of offence.
