i'll be mixing methanol with the water
i'm also going to fit a thermometer if i can work out which one i need
k-type keeps getting mentioned, and looking into it a bit more it looks like the temperture probe fitted in my backbox is k type, so might be interesting to to get something that i can plug that into aswell

Best to balance the weight, and minimise the capacity.
On a hill climb with the water on from start to finish I use 2 litres over 60 seconds. This is a stock Subaru RA IC water pump.
I've read elsewhere last night that 50% methanol in the water, seems excessive (and explosive?) You will be filling the engine room with mthanol vapours right around that red hot turbo
Graham.

There must be some witty comments to that image...
Think I'll stick to ice cubes. Totally befuddles the spectators at a hill climb when you load the washer bottle with ice cubes on a summer day.

Only 11 weeks (or less?)to the first event..

You do realise that you need to use filtered water for the ice cubes, and this is a techie subject so no zoo animals here. Get the hollow cylindrical 'cube' as they disolve quicker in the heat of the battle (hill climb).
The water will not then stain your nice IC, but you do need to disolve the cubes as the fluid bit runs out really fast, and you cant pump ice.
Thought about quenching the IC itself before the off? Just as important as the cold water.

i'm mounting it infront of the radiator, something not done before, i'd like to think of it as a 'front mounted' intercooler, it might catch on
or i might be joking again

or i might be joking again

They do that in grass track racers..well, oil coolers at least.
I don't think you can fullt insulate/isolate the TMIC from the fact heat rises.
In a hill climb you need to warm the engine up.
You do this in the paddock, bonnet open.
you are then summonsed to come down by class to the stat line. You can quench the warm/hot TMIC with cold water and add the ice cubes to the IC water. Close bonnet.
About 10 mins now elapse before you actually get close to the start line. Things are roasting now with the engine on tick-over, so spray the TMIC every now and then to chill (maybe) the TMIC.
Get to the line and blast off. Turn the water spray on full blast and leave it on AFTER you leave the line or the start line marshals will bo!!ck you.
Will this keep the TMIC chilled? On a summers day racing i can feel the power dropping off, hence going to a FMIC + the above technique for this year.

also going to be putting 3.9 CWP in it to lengthen my gearing a touch, should have a nice long first gear too
