You can modify (a lot) the stock seat rails to a competition seat, but you will not sit any lower in the car.
I made my own fixed position frame for my Sparco and sat 50mm lower in the shell. That might be a bit too much though.

The RA is a bargain car at the moment i think.
There were 3 for sale recently at the 4/5k mark and fresh from Japan so no rust.
The subframe I made 2 years ago sat me almost on the floor, Touring Car style, but wife and daughter ( ) couldn't drive it as it was too low and too far away from the wheel. This is why I've just put a slide frame in.

TEG Sport make frames.
Mine cost £5 in steel from B&Q and a wonderful morning friggin about. The mountings are not straight pieces....

I nearly bought the item Kev, but messed him about with my indecision and trying to justify to the wife that i needed it!
I think it will be about 25 to 50mm down on the stock RA seat.
There really is very little scope to drop the seat if you keep the runners.
My solid seat frame I ran really drops 50 mm in fact it renders the sunvisors useless you sit so low

Not sure if i still have it somewhere, if I do i will post a pic for you.

The guy selling the frame seems a sensible type to me. (he forgave me for pratting him about )

Graham.

Kev:
Can you measure'estimate how much lower you sit in the car please with the Bride frame in place.
If it is worth it i might go in that direction.
I miss sitting super low in the car.

Graham.

Im planning on running without the offside headlight to get the most amount of air in possible (on dry days obviously).
it looks wierd without a headlight.
Then I looked at the skylines that have done the same and they seem to have a shroud that fits in place and sort of "frames" the area.
nothing for the scoob so a butchered quad is the way forward.
problem is, they are only sold in pairs.
ho hum nevermind, something always comes along to the projectuers

Default head lamp vent !

go to the storm motorsport web site then email them they can supply u with a head light shaped air duct

this is the reply that i got from them

Hello Mate

Sorry for the late Reply.

Yes we do stock this item for the Classic 96-2000 shape. The price is £59.99 plus £10 delivery. It is complete with rubber seal but you will have to drill 3 small 8mm holes for the front grill and the sidelight mounting. Otherwise its a straight swap. It is a very effective unit which has proven to lower intake temps to allow safer boost levels. Aswell as it looks amazing for track and drag use.

thanks mate

I think Legacy/Imprezaturbs made something like this for Wallis' car few years back, about the same time they were fiddling with his front bumper...from what I remember it was better looking that the Storm vent...I've been modifying my front bumper to create a large duct going up through the wheelarch and out through the inner wing...will post some pics on my project thread over on 22b when I'm done

Tim, I've already done this but with a smaller entry on my project! I think the extra drag from removing the headlight may out weigh the small gain in cold air/power IMO. I've just removed the rubber seal strip instead from the leading edge of the bumper over the headlight.

this one John

hopefully with the dual reading function i can see the difference between the pre-turbo air temps and the anti-TMIC temps, will be useful to keep an eye on heat soak and when best to use water spray (and if it's having any effect )
