Disappointing RR results.....NOT!!

Terrific result Alan! Well done!
What is it about Scottish people and powerful Scoobs? They go together like Rhubarb and Custard.
I remember not too long ago, a claim like this on standard UK internals would have been openly laughed at. How times change. It just goes to show there's "knowledge" and the there's knowledge.
Be interesting to see what my chunk kicks out next year with one of those monster turbos and a few other discreet tweeks
Cheers

Nice one Alan
There was me thinking Sam was useless, just shows eh? Guess he's ok really (as long as you don't talk to him)
I see you got rid of the VF22 - was it not good enough - is "kinda" what I was using
Great result

Now there's a blast from the past!! You still lurking round this neck of the woods?
The VF22 did well on the car until i took it on my first track day. 8 laps i got before i had to limp about 70 miles up the road with the car going zzzzzzzzzzz!!! Head was bursting by the time i got home!!

Once your cars up and mapped, done and dusted, that's when you'll feel you've had enough and just want to drive it! I'm saying that now, but i just know....i just know, that when somebody pops up with 470 brake out a UK scoob on std internals, it's gonna be...oh no...here we go again...more money, more time off the road....

Alan nice result mate for a non STi
How does the TD05/06 20G compare with the MD321 you used to run?
I myself am trying to hit the magic 400 mark (STi8) but may need a little guidance

Andy LOL.

The VF/Garrett hybrid i ran was a totally different unit compared to the TMI-141S or the TD05/06-20G.
The Garrett was a very strong unit at the top end, plenty power from it, but at the time i ran std headers.
My problem with it was that it was too laggy for my gearing out on the open road.
For example, you would come up to a bend, drop down a gear and after the apex of the bend you would floor it but on occasions depending on the severity of the bend, i could be caught out and the engine was *just* out of its power band which meant you had a second or so delay before the power was there to take you along the straight to the next bend. It made the car feel slow. Purely straightline stuff it was fine cause at max rpm change up, in the next gear it would always be in its power band.
The TD05/06-20G and the TMI-141S are quick spooling units, so for road use are ideal as the power comes in very quickly when you floor the car after braking for corners.
Hope that made sense.

Sure. Did you enjoy the two laps you got?
Fuzz
Yes i've got graphs available. I'll dig out the camera and take a pic of it.
Feels very very good. It's the torque the thing gives that impresses me most. Can only imagine what the new breed of 2.5's will do.
I do most of my own spanner work with help from others for the heavy stuff like lifting gearboxes out

Just remembered. It was an MD324 i had not MD321. Perhaps someone can tell us the difference between the two? I think David Wallis had a 321?
All i remember was having to grind away the rear of the engine to allow the compressor cover to fit!!

Just read this post. Absolutely cracking results!!
Tweenierob did have 419bhp and that was with 550s so that must be the absolutely max to run 550s?
Ill be up there soon. Got a few things to sort out over Xmas, mapping and by new Year, should be up there (well over 400). lol
Very well done

Alan, thanks for that. It is indeed very laggy but I'm not too sure what he cause of that is yet. Can't exactly say it makes big Hp at the top either but again could be problems in other areas I had to do a little grinding to get it to fit but not that much. Would be interested to know the difference between the MD324 and MD321?
What was your best result on the MD324?
Cheers

MONEY
I'm using NGK PFR7B's.
Conrad
I didn't run the MD324 on Star Performance's rollers but used an AP22.
At the time it showed an "at wheels" figure of 301-304BHP, which when multiplied by the "1.23" factor, gave a flywheel horsepower figure of 370-374BHP. I can't remember what boost i ran but think it was either 1.4 or 1.5 bar. Again though, this was on std headers.
The TMI-141S during the summer gave 310 "at wheels" HP on AP22, which would equate to 381 at the flywheel. On Star Performance's rolling road it gave 387BHP at 1.385 bar boost, so as near as dammit, the same.

Forget it boys for the moment.
Fotopic is head bursting material for me. I uploaded the pic and when you click on the gallery it's a pi%%y wee foto, so uploaded a bigger one and it's still a pi%%y wee foto. Can't make out anything.
Put it down to me just finishing a full days work and can't be ar%ed to muck about just now trying to get it. And probably a dunce at this uploady thing.....
Anyone want to host? If so, i'll mail you the pic later tonight for everyone to see.
