Hi Alan
Just looked at your graph and dug out mine.
Both look somewhat similar.
Your power and torque figures are slightly higher.
Think i reach peak torque slightly earlier.
Your torque curve does appear nice and smooth.
What puzzles me with both graphs. Is the amount of drag we appear to be incurring.
I'm 85.0 bhp Looks like yours is over 100?
Mail you my graph.
Cheers
Steve.

The Link map is on my laptop but it doesn't have an internal floppy drive and my external one isn't working for some reason.
Bit of a pain because i like to keep a spare copy on my home PC in case anything happens to the laptop copy.
If i get round to it after Xmas, i'll try and couple up both PC's to get it onto home PC.

Excellent and hello from Auckland New Zealand as I wait in the airport for the flight to Fiji - yeah I know - what a drag.......
Once you've sorted out your driving skills you can come to the Sunny south and give some tuition to the novices - just think if you do it say in February it will be like summer has come early for yee............

Well done Alan, Had no idea you were on standard internals, Impressive but it does mean i'm going to have to go for a frontmount and headers when i get back now
Are the standard valves solid or sodium filled? What sort of EGT's were you getting here?

Looks good Alan, nice FAT torque curve there that's what makes it haul *** in the 'real' world
I don't think there is much improvement to be had there, perhaps try more midrange boost to increase the torque but then gearbox life becomes a concern
Andy
PS can you fit in a 75mm inlet pipe ? wana try out the ported shroud ?

now that should allow us to run more mid boost in the mid range, and giving more torque,
that is off course if we are talking about the same thing here, peripheral air slots to direct air into the secondry compressor blades, reducing surge etc,

Yes, same thing Sam it is currently experimental on my own car but I have not had the opportunity to evaluate it fully and I'm now 'reverse engineering' my current car
I'm just a bit wary that Alan may have previously had his fill of being someones 'turbo test dummy'

Alan: On Saturday you are not modding the car anymore and going to enjoy and by Wednesday the next modding forrays are already being planned.
Just ten days earlier than I would have expected........severe withdrawal symptoms after only three days leads to a reversal.....another new record to you?
P.S. Does Clare know yet???

The engine is the same spec as it left the factory. Has never been opened up. Haven't a clue to be honest about the valves. Whatever the std valves are made of.
The highest EGT seen on any of the runs was just over 900 but not sure which run, think it was the 2nd run. It came down after that.
Andy
When i first raised the inlet manifold, i checked for height to see what could go in and should be able to get a 75mm inlet pipe in there. All i have to do is remove one lug for clearance.
It's not a difficult change to try it out if you want.
Harvey
I know, i know , i know.. I have finished with the car as far as i'm concerned, but if there's something which can be tried on the car which doesn't keep it off the road for weeks at a time , then i'm willing to give it a go.
I do get bored very easily if i'm not tinkering about with something on the car.
Shhh!!!.... That's why we're going on holiday for Xmas........

Hi Harvey
Fitting the shroud to me, is fine tuning. It takes little time for me to make up a new inlet pipe to accomodate a ported shroud but i don't see this change making much, if any difference, over and above the maximum figures i already have.
As AndyF and Sam have said, the shroud is designed to help torque in the midrange by concentrating airflow to the inner blades and also reduce any surge issues on spool up the 20G can give, when normally all the air is directed to all of the compressor wheel.
Not sure what you are meaning by the question on Trout?
