Clio 172

here here...I actually retract what i have said, i shouldn't really post when i get tired after work, but its just i had an encounter with a cup on the A40 motorway coming home and he didn't see me for dust and then tried to clamber into my boot as soon as i slowed to sensible speeds. It is people like that, as applauded on Cliosport, which really get on my wick. Sorry if i have offended, i didn't mean to generalise.

Read the postings in the racing forum. They all applaud each other for 'great scalps' even when they are a danger to themselves and other road users at speeds in excess of 120mph. Visit www.cliosport.net to make sure we are talking about the same site.

Must admit I think that racing forum is a complete joke, makes me ashamed with affiliating myself with that site! It never used to be so muppet orientated, but admittedly it is getting worse, hence I haven't reapplied for my membership! Usually if I see something that is blatantly rediculous, I will point it out in no uncertain terms!

I also don’t use Cliosport.net any more, when I started using it about 18 months ago when it was a club for enthusiasts but has now degenerated into more of a boyracer get together. So now I have now started using Scoobynet where the discussion is a little more grown up. You will always get idiots with any make of car who insist on "Maxing" up there motor’s and insist on driving like tw@t’s, so whether it be Scoob or Clio your gona always get idiots with a 4 foot tall picnic table on the back of their car and LED windscreen squirters.
So for the record I would like to distance my self from the Boyracers of Cliosport, but I am still a great fan of the RenaultSport brand even if i dont have a 172 any more.

i've just got rid of a 172 sport in favour of a scooby , the wrx makes the clio look like a diesel, nothing happens until 4 1/2 revs , by which time you 've been left behind , the good thing about is , they are so easy to chuck around and they do grip quite well , as for head room , i'm 6 ft plus and there was bags of room

Zedder, old chap,
May I draw your attention to the "Humiliated by Clio Cup" thread posted a week or two back? I think perhaps that similar ignominy explains your antipathy to the Clio.
Furthermore, I woulds also point out that far from being impoverished and forced to make do with Cups, many owners, like myself, have six figure incomes and bought Cups as mere toys out of our pocket money.

LOL well I use cliosport as I own a Clio and think its a great wee site - there is nothing on there (including car 1 came up against car 2 and result was.....) that there isnt on here!Tarring lots of users with the same brush shows at best a lack of understanding and at worst stupidity! Every forum has their modders and racers including Scoobynet! I visit lots of BB's and am yet to find one that hasn't!

Racing forum they may have but zedder123 stated:-
'Just i had an encounter with a cup on the A40 motorway coming home and he didn't see me for dust and then tried to clamber into my boot as soon as i slowed to sensible speeds'.
IMO that was a race, so Impreza or Clio owner we all try and promote our marque. So dont slang off Cliosprt for racing as whats gone on above is clearly racing.
zedder123 as soon as you meet a Cup driver who is up for a race (just like you are) you will be very suprised at the speed of one and gutted that he will do it with half the overheads of an 10 year old design car as the Classic Scooby is.
I know the power of the Scooby, however there is a lot to pay for the small difference in performance of a standard car.

thing is over at cliosport the reason there is a racing forum is because we all got sick of reading posts about racing so the mods decided to make a new area that we didnt need to read if we didnt want thats the only reason. i allways remember this place been full of racing tales too so its a little like pot calling kettle black
