Thumbs up

Hi,

Nearly went for the Clio 172 sport but the Leon Cupra was a grand cheaper, bigger (read heavier) and more comfortable (read more toys... cd... etc).

Would happily go for the Clio tho, nice little car and quick too.

Druddle,

Good friend of mine has just got one and I've driven it a few times.

It goes like stink and handles like it's on rails but I've never liked the Clio driving position (but that's personal taste).

It also suffers from explosive torque steer in the wet which probably isn't surprising considering the power.

Other than that it's a hark back to the old Hot Hatch era (if you can remember that!)

well the new 172 seems to have 16" wheels, sat nav and more low down torque, as well as a redesigned interior so i will wait for a test drive next month when its released.

Had a test drive in the old 172 (to replace my wife's 5dr Sport) but couldn't actually source a car except for the 172 "exclusive" -available in only one colour (green).

After all the hype found it lacking punch at low revs. Apparently this is improved in the new model. Very nice package though - good interior/exterior styling etc.

Have offered my dealer a deposit to secure a new model when it arrives.
