Its just a shame its "two tone" yellow for the moment lol!

Thankfully rather than the old 't-cut elbow' I can see myself suffering with on monday morning I have managed to blag myself an electric mop & cutting polish for the weekend which will make it a damn sight easier

Any tips on using one of these beasts? - I think you can do some damage in the wrong hands

I know its a 'flat' colour but I cant believe how much it has lost its colour over the last 3 years - going to have my work cut out I think!!!

yes.. dont do it yourself if you dont know what your doing..

Use a very fine rubbing compound if you must.. make sure its properly dry first though (Paint that is..) be very carefull you dont burn through the paint..

I would recommend getting a bodyshop to do it.. Ive painted a few cars but hate compounding them..

Thats the thing im worried about - the burning bit

I have done it a couple of times before - I will have a pop at it & start of gently I think!

Never with a flat colour though - I presume the process is the same?

If it starts to go pear shaped ill be on the phone to my bodyshop mate

easier on a flat colour.. you can see when youve burnt through...

has it been lacquered??

Read the instructions on the compound.. may say use plenty of water.. if so wear old clothes.. and watch out for walls windows anything getting covered

lol Ive seen the after effects of a mopping

Right thats a bonus if its easier!

Im planning on doing the other bits on the car other than the bonnet & bumper & they are as they left the factory so I assume yes they have been lacquered.

Somehow I can see this going very wrong lol.

Red face

At least I have an engine

Anyway I bet at the sort of power levels we are expecting my steel closed deck block will last longer than your 'chocolate' one

p.s. who needs to go fast when you look that good? lmfao

My turbo is exactly the same size as yours you cheeky ****

The engine is being built on a spare block - I still have the original 350bhp engine in the car

Exhaust? - how do you mean?

Updates - as they have been a bit slow in coming

Money paid for the ECU - Lovely Pectel winging its way to me now!

Had some people have a poke & a dig around the engine bay last night to work out whats needed for the Pectel, Confirmed that the Japanese really dont know how to tune cars (well this one anyway lol) as I have a boost control coming via a soleniod on the FPR? (could be wrong but hey im not very technical as you have probably noticed by now )

Dropped off my injectors, fuel rail, pumps, clutch & flywheel as well

However - its all "on hold" at the moment as I have pulled out of TOTB (well with this engine anyway) & will be resumed again next month as there are other more "pressing" projects to be done

After that its full steam ahead - then get the bugger on the dyno to run it in, map it etc

Still thinking out loud with regard to fuel maps - obv I would like a standard SUL map, a SUL & NF map - & maybe a race fuel map for really going mad

Going to try & get the damned battery in the boot asap as well

Bit slow on the updates at the moment!

Not a huge amount to discuss really - oh my rather large intercooler turned up last week

Not entirely sure home im going to fit it behind the bumper yet!

Been looking at weight saving again, so far I would like (wish list me thinks) carbon bonnet, bumper, splitter, side skirts, rear bumper, boot lid & the remainder of the spoiler assembly

Making enquiries at the mo as to who can make them to a suitable standard (i.e. mint) as some of the bits I would like to leave unpainted (tart )

Still toying with stripping the interior & caging it up - just dont know really

Still running @ TOTB with my weedy TD05'd original engine lol, in the process of blagging a 75bhp nitrous kit to give me a little more of a chance

I figure the N20 might help with the heat as well - as I expect it will be very hot

So thats me driving up on sat & coming home on a tow truck on sun then
