Believe it or not the mountain of subaru engines is getting smaller im doing bits of them all thay will all come together soon, im pulling out of ten of the best to make sure all you boys have your engines in time. sexual favours do help but only if your female! thankyou graham. C talk to graham about an exhaust manifold the F1 boys will be on the case for his one and im sure you can sweat talk him into getting two done the primary lenghts and diameters will suit your power level perfectly.

Latest update

FINALLY my gearset has been finished & they have receieved my cheque. Should be back in Wales by tomorrow!

Things have kind of been in "go slow" mode for a while my end - I really need to pull my finger out when I get the car back. This in theory should be next weekend

Not going to do anything Saturday (well thats the plan) as im looking to go to Jap Fest @ Castle Coombe.

Still on my list to sort are:

Clutch (reeeally not sure what to do about this now )
Injectors - may hve been resolved after a phone call today.
Fuel lines - sorted in the same call!
Bodywork - must get it to the bodyshop asap
Intercooler - in the process of resolving at the moment!

I think thats about it for the moment - Im going to have a not very productive afternoon work wise because I need to find a clutch to tame the beast lol

More updates next weekend when I get the car back & the bumper off too see how much space I have for the new intercooler

Might even put some piccies up for you - showing off the new brakes & wheels

Oh - that reminds me - I must go get my suspension this week as thats coming back

Sounds awesome Chris. I'd heard you were up to something, certainly explains why you've not been to any Surrey meets recently!

Keep up the good work

Cheers mike

I should be back soon - minus the engine for a little longer

Santa srrived today with my HKS drag clutch & 1000cc injectors

Fuel rail will be here this time next week

Trying to sort suspension out still - I sold the kit I had for more than I paid for it lol - but now im stuck again with no suspension!!!

Im shocked at the costs of new kits - all I want is something simple for a muppet like me without having to have it serviced every 5 mins

Been looking at a set of Ohlins Fast Road/Track bits but its the thick end of 2 grand on the car & set up

David,

All a bit quiet at the moment - I get the car back this weekend so will be pretty much prepped for the engine - the only thing I still have to sort is the suspension...

Diffs, box, brakes uprated mounts are all in the car now & ready for the abuse my 350bhp (as is) can put out lol..

Going to get some engine updates over the next few days - think its full steam ahead in the department at the moment tho

The cars off to have the tarty bodywork bits done to it soon - so yet again I will be stuck driving a 1.6 megane convertable

Opening the throttle for ALS? - wont my Pectel do that? lol

Seriously though no I dont know sorry

Chris

Forgot to say I have the car back now & had forgotten what I was like to drive a (relatively) quick car

Off on Sat to get new suspension fitted

All is ticking along on the engine front still as well - work on the manifold starts soon (next week I think) & the rest of the engine is starting to be built up

More updates coming to a screen near you soon

David

Had it checked today by a mate who builds boxes becuase of my concern :eek

he's stripped it down & said all is ok

Oh well I can get a spare box for about £400 if it does go

As for Mr Norris - I plan on using super unleaded, thats all I say

Right - this weeks installment before i go to Belgium for work tomorrow

probably wont be an update next week either as im off to LeMans

Slight technical hitch going on lol - car is being picked up today & should be back over the weekend while i am away all sorted

I now have my Ohlins coilovers fitted

Only driven the car for 40 odd miles with them on so need to let them settle down a bit as well. Suffice to say the ride is soooooo much more progressive than the old "shake your teeth out" special that it used to be

When I have done some miles in it I shall comment on them a bit more

we are currently still building engines - some more bits have been turning up this week, need to check but I think we are in a "dummy build" stage

Still loads to be done tho - its gonna be bloody tight I think if the cars going to make it to TOTB - I can feel some late night "running in" laps of the M25 coming on lol

Been looking @ gauges now - cant believe again how much money they are Id like to keep it to a minimum if possible (obv boost is needed) & a few others. I like the idea of SPA gauges as you get a "two for one" style & the bonus is they obviously take up less space

Downside I have heard now off a few people that they are a b@stard to calibrate

I want a traditional style boost guage too - i find it easier to read than a digital one i think

Anyone know of a decent one that reads past 2 bar? Defi's HKS etc all stop there maybe they dont like lots of boost by the looks of things

fingers crossed everyone I so want the carto be there

chris.. demon tweeks do a 2.5 bar one.. ive yet to find a 3 bar one though.. think its the racetech.. yup.. it is just looked in catalogue... 2003 cat, page 155 middle.. £30.24

Might just have to endstop and then look at the laptop as that reads to 50psi

As for spa gauges.. I would like oil temp and pressure together and egt and intake together.. then boost

Hi Chris,
Dave Gammon, aka evo400 from the lancer register site can get hold of the spa gauges and from what i remember are quite a bit cheaper.

Cheers

Updates & Pics

I need some webspace for pics

Updates - well last weekends mishap is sorted - I now get the car back on Weds sometime but them im off to LeMans that night

Not a lot is going to happen between now & then

Awaiting for my intercooler to arrive from Japan now - going to be a couple of weeks away for that.

Basically most things are done now, Got some gauges to get still hopefully will sort all that side of things out next week

What else? Oh ECU - needs a custom wiring loom - will sort that out soonish - looks like that is happening next week at some stage

I still have sat im spare room an HKS twin plate drag clutch to be fitted at some stage, an HKS fuel rail & HKS 1000cc injectors

Been looking at oil catch tanks & fuel surge tanks need to get that sorted i spose lol.

Going up to a mates stereo shop in sat next week - going to get the battery reloated in the boot while im there & try to make a gauge pod for the dash while im at it.

Has anyone put 3 up the a pillar - might be a bit clustered thats the only problem
