Moving swiftly on....

The SECOND welder has been sitting there since Last Friday on hire.

Last one was not working correctly ??

So I'm thinking tonight, must get up there and make an effort this week so I can off hire the thing.
Been feeling a little off colour since coming back off hol (caught some bug I think in a dodgy motorway service station.)
So I drag my sorry snivelling **** up to the workshop and start setting the welder up.....

1. gas hose connectors don't fit the regulator they supplied.

2. No plug on the power cable...

Ok well I'll get a plug from off one of the little used welders in the workshop then, least it'll be ready to go when I can get a hose adapter,
Fit said plug, sswitch on and....

**** BANG ****

wisps of smoke emanate from the now dark workshop.....

OOPs don't think a single phase welder likes three phase !!!
Thanks for telling me you sent a ******* single phase unit instead of the three phase one you sent out a few week ago.

Now the question is >>>
Do I, off hire it telling them to stick it where the sun don't shine, mentioniing the gas pipe doesnt fit the guage, this is the second time they have messed me about.
etc etc..

Or do I tell em I fried it and knocked out the whole farm in the process !!!!

Andy
<completely pissed off now, feeling ill obviously just isn't enough>

Do you get the feeling sometimes someone has got it in for you !!!

I would tell them they supplied you with a dangerously set up welder, some idjiot even put a three phase plug on a single phase welder. And obviously, the only thing that could happen, did.

oh well it's gone back today with a message to stick it up their ****.

aquired one from a different company today and it turned up within the hour, set up and demo'd ...
For £10 more per week than the other two bit company..

Dave,
wired up correctly, just to too many phases
earth = earth
Live = Live
Neutral = Live, oops....

being as 3 phase is just 3 separate 240v (ish) lives I didn't think the end result to be quite as spectacular as it was..

Yes but what voltage do you get between phases???

Phase to netural is more like the correct way..

Fuzz, what are the hire rates like on a welder like that, would be a single phase for me (unless I tap into 3 phase junction before meter!).

Was putting this off as I was not looking forward to f.. messing it up.
More confidence in the new welder now so the time came to melt down 1400 quids worth of turbo

Shuts eyes and arcs up... here we go.

Pop down to B&Q for a mooch and spied this

So used it for this

Nezz,
Hayward and Scott, judging by the **** state of the welding !!!!
My Gran could have done better .....
And she's DEAD !
<shakes head at £1200 pound price tag>

***Disclaimer, This should in no way reflect on the supplier as it's only his design, he has nothing to do with the fabrication / welding ! (or so I believe anyway !)***

Gizmo,
anywhere you like as long as it plays the right notes

Big Bear,
I'm afraid not me old bean, I'm sure you'll hear it at the next star meet or Hullavington day (whichever comes first !!)

And lastly but by no means least,
David,
The pics,

If anyone ever asks you to lag a set of four into one headers.....

Run kicking and screaming into the hills.
2 fecking rolls to do that !! (£30)

need some larger jubilee clips for the down pipe

Andy
