legal expences
fully comp
garaged @ home
6yrs no claims (not protected)
and an sp50 resulting in 42 day ban..

Hmmm spot the difference !!

Now do I....
Cut the plugs off and get some plugs to fit?
Cut the lugs off the side of the plugs and get the original plugs to fit?
Change the injectors?

No one mentioned they wouldn't be a screw in replacement

phone call made and all is clear.

Cheers Bob much appreciated

Andy

Edit to add, all you have to do (in laymans terms)
is basically cut the left hand lug off the new one shorten the overall height of the cap (so the plug goes in further, and then bend the pins so that they reach over to the correct side of the socket (in a Z shape)

Easy

Injectors are in.

Muchos cranking later and she fired. <PHEW>

lots of "white mist" from the exhaust and I started to float round the garage....
sounded good though, Idling like a proper rally car.

So I backed the fuel pressure off to 2.25 BAR.
no visible fuel vapour in the exhaust now, although the AFR meter is still shining as brightly as ppossible, full on BLUE at all times.
I guess it's going to cost a few quid in juice to get over to Swindon Fiday.

Tomorrow... inlet pipe

Andy.. remember.. Bore Wash.

May be easier to fit injectors at bobs.. doesnt take long.. but kill fuel pump first.. otherwise.. lots of fuel in cylinders

Be carefull..

it's only 20-30 miles away...

easier to back off the pressure than swap the standard ones back in.
Not to worry I will be keeping an eye on it.

a couple of hose clamps and I do believe we are there.

Managed to run out of heat wrap though, grrrr.
So I cannot wrap the intercooler outlet pipe that goes past the headers under the car. here's hoping the air flow over it will be enough !

Lol..

might be worth getting some gearbox mounts off mark too..

nice price

it wont be the last time the box comes off..

Ps you can remove driveshafts by pulling box back off input shaft.. (knock roll pins out of shafts)..

Pull box back and to the side.. thats one off then push it the other way and the other will come off..

Worst comes to the worst and youll have to split one sides bottom ball joint..

You know how to release the clucth arm?

remove starter, remove hex plug.. screw in 10mm bolt and pull bar out..

I was going to ask you where those piccys of the clutch arm you put up are!
But I'll probably work it out... If not, I'll be back to ask

what sort of price are we looking at for the mounts, I'm pushing the cost limits as it is with buying a flywheel as well...

Mark can't be out of his pit yet, as I've had no reply

What spark plugs, I'm still running the standard 6's

Bob advised that they might get a "bit hot"

by the way, that 10mm bolts a 6mm.

engineering terms 6mm = 6mm thread 10mm head

was fingering that hole for quite some time, but my bolt was just too big!!

See david, Once you get into it andf get your hands grubby all thought of when it will be running drift away..
You become more concerned about whether your ribs are gonna get crushed when the box finally lets go of the block.

Right then that's off, come on Mark... I'm twiddling me thumbs now.

and here we have the slippery little bugger!

Hot but not bothered..I think it would go again but it would be sacralige (sp?) to put standard parts back on.

When were talking about plugs...when will you need 8's instead of 7's ...??

Boost/Bhp ???

Have been running 7's and it's about time to change them...

I'm currently running a TD05/06-20G @ 1.3Bar

btw Bob your tip about fitting the injectors are super,
as Fuz's pics shows
