Who do you class as the big boys??
I know a fair few scoobs that should be quick, and also a couple of evo's
David
Big boys = 500+ bracket which i may or may not be in..
All pending completion and setting up i would say...
You, Mark and Trout would be the first people i would name, pending completion..
Then Pavlo, Harvey aint far off, John Banks.. who wants 450/400
bet he has a bit more
If Andy F takes the plunge i am sure he will be up there.
Chris, you dont count... you have a Proton in disguise.. and your turbo is small

i dont know of any other Evo's using the same turbo as me?
A few seem to use the Greddy 25g kits, a lot seem to choose the HKS 3037 kits, obviously Norris used the HKS 3240.
I know Mark shead uses a GT25 with an internal wastegate on his, but mine is a little bigger than that

Seriously though.. Anybody who knows anything about my engine best keep their mouth shut.. Anything told is normally in confidence.. as it will have been to the people that said something..

Havent done much to car recently.. short of improving security on it.. and also round the house / garage

Cant wait for a theif to try and get it from where it is.. would be truly shocking.

David
Andy - it has a bigger turbo than the Norris car
Depends - im not sure how i define fast actually, although even now my car "feels fast" but in the big scheme of things it isnt that fast at all
I call Keiths skyline "fast" i dont think mine will be THAT fast but hey, you never know
*goes in hunt of nitrous......... again

That skyline was very fast, though Im surprised it didnt break 200mph, considering it was already clocked at 150+ at 1/4mile. It therefore had a full mile to get to 200+, or did he let off???
Is it a geared drag special??

Keiths skyline was built in Japan as a drag car, the 2 degrees positive camber
on the rear wheels made the car a bit of a handful on the handling circuit too !! Even if it was geared for it, I'm not sure I would want to run it at 200mph
I think the max speed trap was reading a bit low on the day Steve

There will be another projects thread soon Andy, it is no secret that i have a WRX Ra to play with. I purchased the car for a very reasonable sum of money without an engine. I have an engine ready to fit now but i do not expect it to last very long.. I have never run a car with Nitrous before and not been in one with a 150+shot.
I expect it to go **** up but i want to have some fun with this car before i go serious. I have purchased a few goodies that will be used once i have had my N20 fix and engine change. Oh and can i have another one of your turbo's to play with

Watch this space.
Unfortunately i do not have the Engineering capability of Mr wallis so i doubt my thread will come close to this one.

Rob (or David)
If you need any help with the N2O set up let me know.
I ran a 2 stage adjustable system on my last car (V8)
It could set it for 50-100bhp stg 1 and then switch to 150 - 250bhp on stage 2. It was also possible to run stg 1 & 2 together

You WILL need a good clutch and ignition system as the torque increase is the main benefit IMO
Beware if using a single stage that it comes in as a xxx power hike at whatever RPM you 'hit' it. ie if you run a 150 shot
and hit it at 3000 rpm you will add 260+lb-ft of torque to whatever you are already producing !!
Much safer to have a progressive or 2 stage system with rpm interlocks to avoid triggering at too low rpm.
Contrary to popular belief N2O when used correctly is very engine friendly, much more so than high boost or high rpm.
