Yes try searching under judd racing. There are quite a few 600+ bhp cossies around, you just don't know about them. 540-550bhp is the highest you can go using the T4 turbo and 8 injector set up that most people use on road cars in uk (known as RS500 set up) on ecsorts saphs, and sierras. BUT power is just about how much air and fuel you can get into the engine as its pretty bomb proof when properly built. The scandis use T6 turbos or Rollerbearing huge T78 I think, and just 4 trick 1000cc injectors. Easyily achieve 600bhp although It would be pretty laggy and poo on the road. The british rally cross boys can easily get 650bhp+ and there are dragsters out in Malta that run over 700bhp cossie lumps. Its just a case of how bigs your wallet. Personally a really good 420 bhp conversion using a low comp 200 block, T35 and four greys is the way forward for track and fast road use if you ask me. Cheap, more controllable and alot less lag than the big 8 injector T4 boys.

Si...yes 4 greys and the t34 with .63 a/r would indeed get me a max of 430bhp properly mapped and is half the cost of the 500 conversion, but it aint the magic 500.
8 greens would mean below boost it would be the same fuel consumption as my current 4 green conversion,as the xtra 4 injectors only come in when T4 gets on boost. But 4 greys.....poor fuel consumption everywhere!!!!No the fuel isnt a concern but would be nice to have reasonable consumption to go to some of the meets around the UK.......
But you have got me thinkin about this now!!!As the cost for an xtra 70 odd bhp is about 4 to 5k is that worth it?

I would stick with a well over engineered 440 bhp output or thereabouts to obtain reliabilty and some road manners. The flexibilty of the engine is devastating in this tune and not to bad on fuel if you are sensible. I very much doubt that much will be able to live with your car in this state of tune.

Yeh you got me thinkin now about going 450bhp but with as high a torque figure as poss.
Anyone know if i can get around 430 ft/lb of Torque on this spec using 4 greys and a T4 etc?The average 500bhp torque figure is around 420/430 so i would be happy with that kinda figure if poss, plus it will be spot on for the standard T5 gearbox which is rated upto 420 ft/lb.......Not many 200bhp std cars come with an engine/gearbox that is capable of sooo much more power without major modification!..

Interesting one this....
A lot of 500bhp cossie owners will actually tell you that the 420 (greys, T34) conversions are actually more unreliable than a genuine 500 brake job.
This is because running 420 etc on that spec is right on the limit of the injectors and turbo.... I'd rather run 385 on ice blues with the T34 (68), and keep it mega reliable.... or run 500 brake, and forget about the lag!

Lets get this straight money aint the issue really..I am talking value...500bhp is gonna cost me about 8k doin it myself and mapped by a pro.....whereas 430 is gonna be about half that!
Rich actually T34 and greys can run 430 very reliably without running out of fuel..this happens at 450bhp with greys....ask Mike..LOL..So a 400 conversion would be quite good..but the thing is how much difference between that and 500????
Infact Rich YOU tell me!!!!What was Taner's car like?..Although that was girlie 4x4 werent it?..So no good comparing really...

Try JB Fletch's car.
420 conversion, 2wd. It's mental!!!!!!!!!!
Plenty enough for the road as far as I'm concerned. It's still got driveability, it'll destroy anything you come across on the road, and it wont eat gearboxes. It's what I'll be going for when the suspension's sorted.
