peccy,

Thought your car was for sale m8? not going for the p1 then? How's the dumpvalve by the way?

David,

Would be nice to get a mag involved but doubt anyone would want to cover the same thing. Could always give it a go though.

p.s. should be a hell of a lot of cars over 300bhp this time

Steve... I have a 2.5Bar Escort Cosworth Map Sensor.. so Dunno... Its down to three things

1) Size of my *****
2) Intake Temp (And Det.)
3) Size of my *****

I would expect a minimum of 18psi. and a max of 28psi

Might wind it up more for the day.. (Pronounced Cheat)

Future mods are...

Lumpy Cams, Forged Pistons, Billet Steel Rods or similar, 6sp Gearbox or Uprated syncro kit, New Clutch, Coilovers, Hybrid / Custom TD05 with Front Entry + bigger compressor wheel.

Or sell it..

David

Dave

Never heard of a 2.5 bar map sensor? who knows it must be mi age! - I'm nearly as old as TonyBurns - not quite though....

Heard of and had a 3 bar map sensor - but that was on my erm Escort Cosworth!! (with a mere 420bhp and 400lbs torque)

Lumpy cams - that will be interesting - I know people who have tried them but with little success....

Rods and Pistons - thats the right way to go

Your gonna run just under 2 bar on standard pistons?? **** - I thought Rich was risking it running at 1.5 bar...

I would not want to be running over 1.8 bar or so on an internally upgraded engine, partly as my turbo is only guaranteed to 1.8 bar

Boost aint everything though....

Sounds like if you go internal you wont gain that much power, as all your doing is making the engine safer, but at least you may be able to hold higher boost in the upper rev range

I only ran at 1.25 bar at the last meet - or rather thats all it held on the rollers, as it should have been running at 1.4 bar..

Hope I can make the meet, I now spend just under 6 months a year in the States and October is looking bad!

We may have a car or two? at 400bhp this time, who knows

its either 2 or 2.5 bar (std.)

Either way I'll see how it goes.. Probably just about 18psi though..

Water injection should help..

Dont forget nitrous!

Nitrous - we'll see - I'm not a fan, having seen a destroyed garage and car when the Nitrous bottle went off at a mates house (for no apparent reason) one night.....

With say 1.5 bar I'd expect you to be getting more than Rich with those mods....

Anyhow, Christian should be able to obliterate all of us on the day this time.....

Course - you can get an extra 5bhp by taking the tyre pressures up to 40psi! - cant say I could ever be bothered....... but for the people who need it - no names mentioned... you know who you are...
