CK1 Gets Bashed.....Again!
Actually, we had a green car once, had sooo many problems with it vowed never to get a green one again....sounds crap I know, but the thing was always at the garage, GolfVR6 1year old, these things are meant to be indestructable...
So sorry stef, hope you can get her back on the road asap.
I recently found a good 'sun-trap' on a section of roof at work, which happens to overlook one of them painted roundabouts just outside the factory. On saturday afternoon in a couple of hours, i witnessed three near misses alone.
Muppets
This incident has taught me to do as many trackdays as possible from now on.
The track is definitely safer than the roads (no muppets)
Phil.

Had the same thing with my father some years ago. We where on the roundabout when a young lad pulled out in front of us. More or less the same as you but the old fart and young lad was reversed. Dad went to the outside of the car all would have been ok but the lad in the car stopped after seeing us. We hit the rear backside of his car righting off my fathers Honda and a lot of damage to the lads Rover. Luckily there was a police officer watching and he took names and addresses and all that. In the end we did loose the claim as we hit the rear side of a stationary car. Sucks don't it.
Jesus, not again.....
Sorry to hear that Stef.
When you do get it in the bodyshop, have them blend into the bonnet a 4 lamp rally lamp pod, fit some huge lights, and drive on full beam day or night. No excuses for not seeing you then

Cheers
Ian

Cheers everyone, you know how to cheer someone up don't ya?
The great news is that Elvis from TN has worked wonders and bent the i/c back into shape. There's slight damage to one row of fins but it looks like new otherwise!
He's also managed to pull most of the car back into shape, and we've fitted the headlight that Harj gave me. It all just slotted back into place!
The bumper has somehow come up like it was before
, and the only tell-tale sign is the bonnet which is quite badly dented.
However, I knew that car-bra would come in handy again one day, especially as I'm not running a top mount any more!!!

I'll post picci's soon, you won't believe what the transformation is without going near a bodyshop.
All we need now is the rad to be reconditioned tomorrow and CK1 is ready to rock and roll!
I've also left the grill out and it actually makes the car look even more.....evil.
Elvis at TN is the daddy!
Ring here we come.....YAHHHHHOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Stef.

I am sure Collie Kisser will make the ring.
Good luck with it Stef.
Green, tragic colour, goes along with metalic grey as invisible on the road. I soon learned after 2 prangs in a week in my brand new Metalic Grey car to drive with dipped beam on day and night. People just dont see you coming for some reason.
I pretty much drive everywhere now on dipped beam anyway, half the muppets out there are well asleep.
See you at the bar mate, mines a pint (without the vodca spike this time thankyou very much indeedy
LOL)

Ill say thats 100% correct, three people have
reversed into me since november , two only tiny bumper scratches etc and the third a new wing and bumper respray which he is going to pay for in one way or an other( its took 4 weeks so far and he is trying to get out of paying) and dont mention around 8 (yes thats 8) parking dents which have had to be removed recently what is the f***ing point in driving a nice car when there is so many f***wits on the road trying to spoil it for you all the time ,it takes the shine off driving as now i dont like to park the car anywere at all and i am also a paranoid f**K on the road as i think some one is going to hit me all the time.F**k it sell the scooby and get a nice 15 year old banger and be like 80% of the population and dont give a one.
P.S.sorry to here about CK1 stef it looked mint at Croft and the video was even better.
PPS.sorry for ranting but im P****D OFF!!!!!!
Stef,
SSSShhhh....
But..
be optimistic: everything bad gives in some way (sometimes long way...) someting good!!
My scoob was in the last 3 month hitted 2 times by others, nothing I could do...
But in the moment my scooby is better/nicer dan (n)ever before :lol
I'm the dutch guy that promised you to try-out the Tarox-10-pot brake system on Nurburg-Ring this weekend.
So you càn drive Nurburg-Ring, and when you like, some more laps.
The car is EMS-tuned around 300bhp, and also has a nice dutch suspension (on Mira, Don Palmer said two times "..very nice tunend car..").
So, whatever, this weekend you can feel on german Holy Grounds some dutch tuning
Succes with your car!

I'm glad I'm not the only one, have been asked why I didn't just buy a volvo

Stef,
BEWARE.
Having been bent out of shape and then back straigt the intercooler core may now have stressed weakpoints where it may fail under boost.
Also, don't take risks with the radiator... if it's weakened and fails, you will loose your coolant and overheat the engine... potentially much worse than an intercooler failure, assuming the intercooler doesn't shed weakened or loose internal shrapnel(sp) into your engine.

I have spoken to the i/c manufacturers who have reassured me that it is perfectly safe to twist it back into shapw without any damge being done. It wasn't that badly twisted.
I will obviously carry out thorough checks on it.
I have also fitted a new rad.
Thanks for the concern.
