Blast from the past but here is an old timer popping in probably for the last time
Been a scooby owner for , oh around 24 years from my first sport way back in 1999, then classics ever since. Always blue and always gold wheels ( well a few others) as I have no imagination. Finally after all this time, I sold my classic around 6 weeks ago and for me that will be the end of my scoob ownership.
It was quite emotional seeing it driven off but had a blast with them over that time , met my wife through them, had loads of great friends via the cars and still are friends with them now. The kids ( now grown up ) have known nothing else but scoobs and so on. Picked up a nice Audi A4 around the same time and absolutely loving the build quality compared to the classic. It is just nice to be able to shut the doors and not watch as everything rattles itself to death
Still have a classic in the family as my wife owns a white sti type r so if I am lucky she may let me wash it
Nice to hear from some of the olden days peoples. Swiss Tony, you haven't really left the fold at all if the Boss still has one.
Maybe not completely
For me this place was an absolute riot back in the day. The pages used to flow so quickly that it was at time hard to keep up and the banter was top notch. You can tell by my post count
Many a night sitting on here wasting away time and some of the threads are classics. Sadly as with so many other forums at the time it just got messy and a different breed of owners were here, largely it seemed just to argue so kind of lost the plot.
But as many things in life, people move on and things change. One thing that hasnt changed are the group of friends I have that I made on here. Met a ton of them in real life as underneath we are just car people and stay in touch.
First joined SN back in 2000 in my early 20s. Had a 96 WRX import back then. Had various models since and currently own an 05 STI which I’ve had for 6 years. Sits in the garage 95% of the time but can’t bring myself to sell it. Funny how they get in your blood. I pop into SN every now and then and people are still very helpful with any questions etc which is great.
Not seen you on here for ages, remember your many posts from years back, why will it be the last time? What's hers is yours lol
You met your wife through Subaru's? I feel there's an interesting story there.
Always fancied an Audi and do like a nice Black 4 door saloon, so can fully understand that. But i'm sticking with Subaru's i'm in way too deep now

joined about 2001, had a blue wagon tuned by power engineering, baby son at time used to ride in back. Now he has just got his own bug eye, 2001 edition! funny how things always come around again!
In my 39 years on this planet, it’s scary how quickly time flies by…I remember using the football World Cup as a barometer as there every 4 years….with abit of luck il still be cleaning my blobeye at the age of 60
EDIT: some people on here need to smile before it’s too late…
I was 25 when I joined Scoobynet and went through my main life events on this forum - from working away in London and meeting up with CraigH, Harj, Puff etc into losing jobs & redundancy, to marriage, having kids and setting up a web design business, which I still run today 22 years since setting it up and still have customers from here. Forum says I joined in 2000 but it was actually 98 and the date got messed up when we moved forum software.
Can't believe how times flies, I'm 50 this year, still never owned a Scoob, but still into cars - have a modded M240i now, and also own the E91 we bought back in 2010 with help from members on here.
I'm still in touch with lots of the old members from back in the day, around the 99/2000 era including SDB.

Pete is still around.
I remember the interior video from that day - "We have lift off" from Stef. It was Mike Rainbird in the passenger seat IIRC??
Happy Days back then - anyone remember when there were huge waiting lists to buy a new Impreza back in 99/00 and people were buying them cheap from Holland?
I live in hope that with Facebook becoming less and less popular (let's face it, who goes on there... will go the way of myspace eventually IMO), maybe the old forums will have a bit of a revival - still 100% the best source of information about Subaru's
Happy NY young man, aye still got it just racked up 53k and not missed a beat touch wood. May stick a hybrid turbo on it when the weather perks up but then do think its been faultless at "stage 2" so why mess with it
