Above is 100% correct. Cameron should never had held the referendum in the first place. The electorate had no idea of what an exit might mean. A simply appalling misjudgement by him. And now May is digging an even deeper hole.

Interesting suggestion that only dimwits voted Brexit while those with superior intellects voted remain. Here's a little list that perhaps indicates otherwise:

Pro Brexit

Bernie Ecclestone; Roger Daltrey; John Cleese; James Dyson; Keith Chegwin; Duncan Bannatyne; Julian Fellows; Theo Paphitis; Arthur Scargill; Katie Hopkins

Pro Remain

JK Rowling; Gary Lineker; Simon Cowell; Jeremy Clarkson; David Walliams; the Beckhams; Elton John; Bobby George; Steven Hawking; Bob Geldorf

Yep, halfwits and brainy people in both camps

I could point out the fallacy of your cherry picking, but I'll stick to this: none of them should have had the vote. Being an F1 impresario or writer of fine children's books in no way qualifies one to affect a decision as nuanced as in or out of the EU. As Hodgy said months ago, the referendum was brought to settle a Tory squabble and to consolidate power. It was outrageous and as a former Cameron supporter I'm saddened that he'll go down on the wrong side of history.

21 well known celebrities is hardly representative of the vote distribution! The article I posted above is far more conclusive in its data and clearly shows the overwhelming link between low education and voting Brexit as the largest factor influencing the vote!

Of course, in any statistics there are anomalies but you can't use the anomalies to deny the clear facts! I believe that's what Trump likes to call alternative facts!

Agree; odious little **** that he is...but he is correct in this instance.

You know as well as I do that agreeing to the referendum was integral to Cameron becoming PM in the first place. Essentially he was forced into it, do you really believe he wanted it? And had he subsequently refused to follow through with it, how would that have worked out?
His biggest failure was the lame campaigning prior to the vote, they ultimately thought they would walk it and underestimated the ease with which the out camp stoked up the prejudice of the voters.
And here we are.
And Blair is still a ****** and I don't care about this 'play the ball, not the man' garbage. Get a new man if you've got something worth listening to.
But either way, the ship categorically has sailed whether it's still sitting in the port or not.

'No longer stands to benefit from them'

Really? He'll need an oak casket before that becomes true, assuming he's actually in it.

If the content was comparable then yes. The words, sentiments and notions wouldn't become wrong simply because the orator was annoyingly chubby.

Annoyingly chubby? So that's what the rest of the world (other than you) finds objectionable about Kim Jong un!

https://www.businesscornwall.co.uk/n...-announcement/

Cornwall to receive just £6M per year development funding compared to the £60M they currently receive from the EU! That's a 90% cut in development funding! Although at least Cornwall voted for Brexit despite being one of the regions that benefited the most from EU funding, so I guess they're getting what they wanted! Its Scotland and Northern Ireland who I feel sorry for, they voted against Brexit and will also see similar cuts to regional development!
