and ironically much of what you say is pretty much already in place
anyone wishing to live/ work (and claim benefits) has to pass the Habitual Residence test
that includes EU non EU and indeed even expat UK citizens coming back from long term residence abroad

Don't let facts get in the way of a good rant.

see section A - Rights and Obligations
For stays of over three months: the right of residence is subject to certain conditions. EU citizens and their family members — if not working — must have sufficient resources and sickness insurance to ensure that they do not become a burden on the social services of the host Member State during their stay. Union citizens do not need residence permits, although Member States may require them to register with the authorities. Family members of Union citizens who are not nationals of a Member State must apply for a residence permit, valid for the duration of their stay or a five-year period.

of course we plundered our way round the world to get to where we are now, offering the locals next to nothing in return - but presumably this is irrelevant too
I been hearing about the kind of benefits a Gambian associate collects from Belgian social security , whilst back in Gambia
makes us look incredibly miserly

One example..and even then, you are only partly right. LGV costs about £2000, and grants are available.
The problem starts when the newly qualified driver can't get insurance, so isn't taken on by the owners.
And again...if a greedy owner can employ a part qualified migrant at £6.75 per hour, or a UK driver at £13 ph, guess which he does?

Well done to him, one in a thousand. Sadly not all are the same.
And I, too, have evidence of immigrants taking jobs from those already employed and working for less wages. Why do you think they often live ten or twelve to a house, and sleep in shifts?
And where do you think the poorest county is, out of interest?

And do they really go for a job, and ask to be paid half the going rate? Anyway, I thought they were here for the benefits......The poorest county in the UK is Cornwall, although it depends on how you measure it, and who publishes the information. The poorest region is said to be West Wales, which is where my daughter and hubby live. Their county, Ceredigion, voted to remain in the EU by the way. One of the factors that makes Cornwall so hard for youngsters to get on, apart from the lack of jobs, is the high cost, and shortage, of housing, which is largely because of better-off people from other regions owning second homes. Both Cornwall and West Wales have very low levels of immigration. Put simply, the increased strain on health and education services, and the housing shortage, has nothing to do with the EU or immigration, and everything to do with government policy. Inequality in the UK is greater than anywhere else in Europe, and is getting worse. Blaming the EU for this is looking in the wrong direction.
Previous generations immigrants have gone for the biggest cities and now they've decency to spread out among the least populated counties like Lincolnshire
youd have thought the locals would be grateful for reviving such flagging rural economies , but apparently not

If they live ten or twelve to a house, how are immigrants contributing to the housing shortage? Sounds like they're doing their bit to help out.....

but this blame culture is nothing new it reminds me of this sketch
"so they rang the electricity board"

So its clear, the EU is not to blame for all the problems, everything is the electricity boards fault!
The immigrants are now doing the jobs the local's kids did, so their kids are out of work.
Do you HONESTLY believe this sh!te about lazy, feckless UK youth? Was there REALLY a shortage of veg before the Eastern Europeans took over picking it?
And many, many are. Trust me, if you walk down Scunthorpe High Street during a weekday, I defy you to hear English spoken. So THEY are all working, then? unless you reckon they are all on nights? LOL

Poor old Alzheimer, all those filthy, forked tongue, house pinching immigrants heading his way. My heart bleeds.

More efficient use of space, I'd say
Those chavvy Brits would want a 4 bed house for their illegitimate kids, who would go on to claim benefits like their parents before them.It would be at least two generations before the immigrants were dragged down to UK levels of laziness.
Lots of businesses couldn't afford to operate without the cheap (and hard working, let's not forget that) immigrant labour, so they are stimulating the economy!
I bet many more are not. As for Scunthorpe, I doubt you'd hear much of what is recognisable English anyway, they're all inbreds.

So areas without immigrants are deprived, areas with immigrants are deprived. Mmmmm, I wonder what the common ground is.......
Lying Labour - Nothing to do with the EU
and the EU did not "force" anyone, in fact the EU allowed countries to take advantage of an migration/free movement opt out when membership expanded
many countries did, but not us - but lets blame the EU anyway
what a fantasy world you live in

Tell you what lads, (for that is what you are), I've withdrawn from this thread once and am going to do so again now.
I'm just going round in circles with you, and 99% of your arguments are like the Fast Show Politician...Martin 2005 knows him well.
NO-ONE KNOWS what is actually going to happen.
But you remoaners just go on and on and on moaning...no wonder the Aussies refer to UK southerners as Whinging Poms.
Why not embrace what has happened, sit down and make it work, for you, for others, for our kids. Instead of wanting to go back to a status quo that wasn't what the MAJORITY wanted?
WE agitated and got change. You lot want to sit around moaning, spouting vitriol, whining, telling lies, winding folk up, etc and yet you, your surveys, your politicians have actually NO IDEA what is going to happen. You are simply afraid of change, of upsetting your easy, wealthy lives. The world is changing. The lying liberals and the lying left have had their day, made their own bed and must now lie in it.
Bye now. XXXX

Sigh...so when Romania, Bulgaria etc were threatened with having immigrants from THEIR countries limited entry to the UK, the EU didn't get involved and tell us we couldn't now do that as we had already let in the Eastern European scum that came first? And they didn't threaten us with the ECHR if we went ahead and limited them? And fines? They didn't threaten fines? All because under EU rules, we aren't now allowed to treat citizens of one country differently to how we treat/treated others. EU RULES..what part of that are YOU not getting, dumbass?
