I don't think the slaves would agree Britain was 'Late to the party' they've been raping the place for centuries... more a case of 'been there done that' besides aren't we still raping them for oil, diamonds and precious metals...

We'll be trying to ship them back next...

Well, he had his head buried in the sand, as usual. What else could he do, with his reputation? He didn't think Brexit vote would win, so he sat back within his dark room with his doors shut and curtains drawn. Now, when it has gone as far as losing 'Remain', he has had enough, and he is rising like a Phoenix for the cause. By doing so, what more can an 'already a loser' lose? Nothing at all, by making the noise at this point. That's a somewhat naïve way of looking at it, believing that TB as someone genuinely so shaken by this Brexit.

Another more reliable way of looking at it is that he has his historic feud with factually Pro-Brexit Corbyn. This is a good opportunity to crush him with the 'Remain' noise, cause more cracks in the party and drive him out. TB knows that he won't become the next party leader, but he may potentially be able to take his revenge on Corbyn by asserting a polar opposite stance.

He's just making sure the conservatives stay in power for the next 8-12 years.

PS. I don't think he's the right man to lead the revolt; too many of the cognitively deficient will struggle to separate his position on this from Iraq. Nonetheless, that the remainers (across Europe) need to unite is to me self-evident.

That may turn out to be one of the results of his stance. I don't think TB would mind Labour back in power any time, but not with JC being their leader. Not at all.

And Blair will lead his people out of the Brexit wilderness, where the hopeless, half witted and misguided have consigned us; what a fvcking joke that some people are even listening to this worm.

Playing the ball, rather than the man, with what specifically do you disagree?

Blair is spot on. Of course the bully boy Brexiters will rub his nose in the Middle East interventions and subsequent problems which were very largely due to US after regime change policy, or complete lack thereof.

And when all's said and done the Labour party owe him a lot. He got them elected.

Sadly he won't get very far with his latest plan even without the help of his drunken old ally and speech writer., AC.

More's the pity.

And now we get the unedifying sight of desperate Remain voters, clinging to any straw however hopeless, lining up to support the views of a lying war criminal. Pathetic.

Calm down, sweet cheeks. With what is it you disagree? Have you digested the speech?

I detest Tony Blair completely and it cringes me to watch the smarmy c***, but what he has to say in that speech is spot on IMHO! Regardless of you're opinions on Blair or Brexit, I would recommend listening to it in full and take in and consider what he's actually saying! It will give you a very good insight into what the politicians are currently playing at from someone who understands political games and no longer stands to benefit from them!

Quite. Truth is most of his detractors on this board haven't read or listened to the speech.

I never took to Blair either but don't feel quite as strongly as you about him - never thought much of his Mrs either

But he is a bright lad and his speech was absolutely spot on. Intellectually he is streets ahead of most of his detractors

Local voting figures shed new light on EU referendum

The data confirms previous indications that local results were strongly associated with the educational attainment of voters - populations with lower qualifications were significantly more likely to vote Leave. (The data for this analysis comes from one in nine wards)
The level of education had a higher correlation with the voting pattern than any other major demographic measure from the census
So, government policy is now officially based on the will of the thicko's!

And therein lies the issue, and unfortunately, proof again that the person we should be blaming here is David Cameron (or whoever it was pulling his strings) for going ahead and holding the referendum to start with. He (or they) should have known all along that it was far too subtle and complex an issue to be left to every Tom, Dick or Harriett in the country to decide on. And to head off the predictable retorts from the Brexiters (or the select subset of them who'll be able to read and understand what I'm currently typing ), I wouldn't any more want some random unqualified geezer from down the pub to operate on my appendix or synchronize the carburetors on my Countach than I would want him to make epoch-defining decisions on the future of the country. I prefer to leave such important and delicate matters to trained professionals.
