Not that I endorse the AFD in any way, but that video was actually quite a good speech regarding EU reform. Although I'm not sure why Rees Mogg is interested in EU reform, so you have to question why he posted it!

On a side note, the woman who gave the speech is the leader of the AFD and is currently tired up in a scandal in the town where I live close to the Swiss border. The local AFD group received illegal foreign funding via Switzerland and the funding was illegally smuggled across the border, this part is not in question. The bigger question yet to be proven is if the leader herself organised this illegal funding and was even the person who carries the cash across the border. The incident occurred at the time she attended a local rally and in the days before she was known to be in Switzerland.

The same could easily be said about Corbyn though.

True! The reaction from labour has at least been positive so far, but clearly they both have to compromise.

Any comments?

Remember this if you ever bother to vote in a forthcoming election
That was always going to be the outcome of the petition; anyone that expected a different result is naive.

Now the next GE will be interesting...

Oxford University researchers have discovered the densest element yet known to science.
The new element, Governmentium (symbol=Gv), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.
These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called pillocks.
Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert. However, it can be detected, because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact.
A tiny amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second, to take from 4 days to 4 years to complete.
Governmentium has a normal half-life of 2 to 6 years.
It does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganisation in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places.
In fact, Governmentium's mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganisation will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes.
This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration.
This hypothetical quantity is referred to as a critical morass.
When catalysed with money, Governmentium becomes Administratium (symbol=Ad), an element that radiates just as much energy as Governmentium, since it has half as many pillocks but twice as many morons.

Yes, I think that sums up the stupidity that is Brexit quite nicely.

Very sad, but true.

very good interview with Ivan Rogers - he tells like it is, worth a watch/listen

weird but not hearing much about "BMW / Prosecco - we will get the best deal because they need us" yada yada yada

although still the same "immigrants are rapists" - which is nice

but tbh I only went back a few pages of utter fvcking drivel from Brexidiots - but glad to see the same souls fighting the good fight debunking the utter Brexit nonsense

Interestingly, many of the most vocal Brexiteers on here have gone very quiet lately, I wonder if they have just given up arguing on here or perhaps are somewhat less convinced by their own arguments as the reality of Brexit becomes more apparent?

True, she will be remembered as a pariah for either delivering it, or not delivering it, so she may as well choose what she thinks is best (or her own choice, whatever)

The sad thing is, once a company has decided to enact its Brexit plans, then they won't be reversed even if we remain. The numbers might not be huge yet, but the dammage is already being done!

If Article 50 were revoked, or a another referendum was held and Remain was the outcome, I'm sure we'd hear all about being 'betrayed' by the establishment, but I would be interested to hear Leave voters talk about the betrayal of the people who told them the lies, who said that leaving would be easy, that we would have all the new trade deals as well as the EU deal done in two years. What about the betrayals of Dyson and Sutcliffe, who clearly had so little faith in UK they moved so much out of here. The betrayal of people like Rees Mogg who turned to vote for a deal which, in his opinion. was so bad that he held a champagne party when it was defeated.

the Bank of America has spent $400 million moving it's Europe banking business - €50 Billon of assets to Dublin (in 2018) and now France - the Bank has stated the move is irrevocable - high tax paying jobs moving, to be replaced by Deliveroo riders!!

and we have the growing spectacle of the UK siting outside an EU meeting in the lobby with the pot plants whilst the EU 27 make the decisions - an increasing application of simple observable measurable reality

edit - the below has already been posted, but always worth a reminder

even arch Brexiteer Peter Oborne has recognised this reality - the Leave campaigns sold a fiction
