Is it true the gearbox on the latest RS6 is struggling to handle the torque, and tunes to about mid 7s like the previous model before it needs upgrading?

Quite like the understated looks but really not keen on the wheels - a little bit A3 rather than RS3

What colours your RS6, Sepang? I really like Mica Blue.
We both ran 11.6 that day if I remember correctly. I ran 11.3 Feb 2012 so was probably before that, not sure you had your GTR that early? Was yours a MY11 530 or MY12 550? Yeah mine is a Sepang, there are some nice custom blue RS6's around though, well worth it as its only a £1500 option, it's just the lead time that's a pain in the ar*e for a custom coloured factory order.

Banny, yeah they tune to around 700 Stage 1 with the software and 750 Stage 2 with the full exhaust. Quicker than the older C6 V10 engines until the very top end, I'm not quite sure the V8's have the legs to push 220mph like some C6's were able too. Tolerance wise, it's a limited market and hard to say, The majorities have stopped at Stage 2 power levels so far but there are some stage 3 hybrid cars around and even an RS7 on bigger blowers that I'm aware of. Jon Olsson's Gumball car was a reported 1000hp car before it was stolen and torched and that was said to be on standard engine and gearbox, just different fuelling, cooler and hybrids (Google will tell you more about his car). The total race RS7 is also on the standard engine and box with bigger turbos and coolers, that's said to be over 1000hp. I've not heard of any transmission issues on any of the cars. The ZF transmissions are tough units.

Saying all that, I do have a friend with an RS7 that's melted a piston recently and having an engine rebuild at the moment. Dodgy batch of fuel and some broken spark plug tips being blamed for that though rather than strength.

Sorry Shaun, thread back to you. The 2.5T is an absolute gem, I used to wind up the GTR boys with mine, I'm sure you will too The platform has moved on a lot since I had mine, the guys over in the US are doing some pretty crazy things with them nowadays.

Hmm not sure about your colour choice of wheels Shaun. Are they 18's too?
Having said that the 19 diamond cut ones on my RS4 are a magnet for kerbs!
I love my RS4 although coming from the GTR I really miss the turbo shove even after a year of RS4 ownership lol.
I had been thinking of changing it to the RS3 after discovering the dog can fit in the boot I really don't need the Avant sized car I thought I did.
But then I love the V8.... arghhh

Wheels are a minor issue. They were not my ideal choice (colour wise), but a powder coating session to Black will resolve that. Least of my concerns really.

Wheels are 19's.

Anything happening in the upgrade front?
How far do you think you'll be able to go?
