Default Which discs and pads for my car 97 Type R

As above.

I remember last time I need rear discs they are a nighmare to get?

Anyway I have been on ebay and I am lost.

I basically am looking for a set of front and rear discs and pads.

Can someone give me part numbers and/or measurements, vented or non vented etc?

The rear discs we can only get from Subaru , haven't found anyone that does a 290mm solid rear disc with 190mm handbrake , so I would recommend fitting 290mm vented discs from a version 4 & 5 , and fitting rear vented one pot calipers from the classic WRX , P1 ect , as these will fit straight on.

You can fit the 2 pot brakes on , but will need new backplates , at about £100 each , and stripping them to fit will probably damage the wheel bearings so they would need changing , unless you can find some later hubs complete with discs and 2 pots at a reasonable price.

Fronts are straight forward enough having 294mm vented discs and Subaru 4 pots as standard

Cheers Ian

Nightmare V3 do as Ian says and get yourself some V4/5/6 hubs and be done with it. Then fit 2 pots. I have a set or two of V3 discs floating about somewhere if there of any use to you. Don't know what there like but I think they where ok. Also have some Subaru rear 2 pots.

Start a thread of your own mate, tagging onto this isn't right since this is specifically a problem for people with MY97 (Import only IIRC) cars.

You have easy to obtain discs and pads that can be bought in any auto parts store the 97 type r and ra had discs that were only for that model so they are hard to come buy other than imported through subaru hence why its better starting your own thread as the discs on yours are completely different.
For the op i got mine from icp they were not cheap though but way way cheaper that a dealer.
