It definitely seemed to keep the cats at bay, and her garden/flower beds were always in perfect condition

When you have a 31 pound cat, cats don't come near the house, even people don't come near our house.
Failing buying a large cat, you can buy Garlic related cat deterrent. Years back we rubbed garlic onto rockery stones to keep next doors cat away.

I put up a CCTV camera as something was crapping on our drive at night - every sodding morning a steaming pile o shyte that stunk to high heaven.... I was convinced it was a Fox - my missus was starting to get savage about it, she was convinced it was a small dog being walked early morning.
Turned out via the infra-red cam it was the cat that lives across the road (and has done for years) has suddenly started crapping on our drive around 4am - on the tarmac, nothing soft here - the cameras also showed that every fricking cat in the 3 mile radius seems to visit our drive during the night, but only the one across the road leaves a present for them all to sniff at.
I was glad in one way it wasn't a dog as the missus *would* have posted it through their letterbox unbagged (i kid you not!) but as its a cat options are limited.
I have bought an ebay ultrasonic scarer - has slowed it down somewhat, but still get the occasional steamer!
