Do i have to re write it in my own words much like a school assignment .

I'll sum it up in as short a way possible. Uk ports are mostly private.other eu ports in the eu are state owned. And with the new regulation the eu ports will get funding and ours will have to change

we are undoubtedly in a worse place for the immediate and mid term

well that's why I asked you

I have read it - it contains a lot of words but says nothing

it seems simply designed to "push buttons" of anti EU people

I will have to read it again

I accepted things would be worse in the immediate and mid term .im fine with that.
Do you have any further comment on the problem of who we will trade with or is your only concern the free movement and regulations wed have to agree to.

I was giving you the benefit of the doubt

look I have read it again, i have looked into the Ports Services Regulations

http://www.ashfords.co.uk/eu-port-se...moves-forward/

http://ukmajorports.org.uk/eu/ (industry body website)

it simply a sensationalist article designed to push buttons and "enrage"

We sold off our ports service, (presumably getting cash for it in the process) in the EU most are state funded

these "rules" favour state funded ports (the article never actually says what they are!!!!)

but our privatised ports (part owned by Goldman Sachs) are making a song and dance about it - quelle surprise

it simply sound like a technical argument that neither you or I are capable of understanding tbh

but then the Express know this - that's why they print **** like this

I see Charlotte Church is speaking out for the Remain voters on Twitter. In response to Farage saying he wants his life back, she comes out with

I want my f**king European Union back you piece of sh*t!!!!!
http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/po...nigel-11564132

Seems all the Liberals and Remain voters are loving her comment..

Based on the above article and well chosen 'non biased' pictures 'Wales Online' is a left leaning publication...

Ports regulations:

As I understand it, the new regs will require ALL EU ports to put the contracts for port services, (pilots, tugs, dredging, mooring, repairs cleaning etc) out to tender.

This is fine for those in Europe since they are mostly huge and state owned. Ours in the UK are much smaller and privately owned. Our ports do their own services.

IF we were not to put it out to tender, those ports would not be allowed to operate. IF we put it out to tender, we MUST accept the lowest bid, which will be from the huge companies servicing continental ports, with the result that hundreds of UK workers would again be out of work, and the ports no longer in control of their own servicing, meaning the smaller ports might have to wait for repairs, dredging etc.

This is as I have heard it from both a local Humber pilot and a terminal manager at Immingham.

So our ports are in private hands but they must accept the lowest tender. Smells like BS to me.

And this kids is one of my biggest bug bears with the public sector, there's almost always a compromise between cost and quality. Yet the public sector will always lean towards saving a few quid over a better quality product/service.

Lordy you really believe a privately owned company HAS to accept the lowest tender...they may want to accept the lowest tender because they are a commercial entity and only there to make money maybe?!

Perchance do your buddies who supplied you with this information have a vested interest in moaning about potential job losses?
