Update:

Fitted some lowering springs yesterday, I got a set from a friend for a pretty good price so though I would fit them and see how I get on. Nice drop and don't seem too harsh.

No more monster truck

Also fitted 7mm spacers on the rear, need to pick up some for the front.

C&C welcome as always,

Matt.

Well I just recently got my genuine STI scoop back from being painted so got it stuck on. Think there's probably around an inch of difference in height, very happy with it

Update time.

I've had a small oil leak since I bought the car. Suspected to be coming from the Drivers side rocker cover. Apparently this is pretty common due to the heat from the Up pipe / Turbo, the Gasket turns brittle etc.

So I ordered a Drivers side rocker cover gasket kit from Import car parts and had a go at it today.

(As you can see the rocker cover was very dirty, this was after a bit of a wipe down too)

Removed:

Then cover wiped down and the outer gasket inserted:

(Didn't take any more photos as I added the gaskets 1 by 1 though you get the idea)

All put back together and cleaned so I can look out to see if it leaks & gets dirty again

So as if this wasn't enough for me. Whilst doing this I could smell petrol, so I poked about for a bit. I came across a drip of petrol coming out of one of the injectors.. Pulled it apart so I could remove the leaky injector and found:

(Top seal f*cked)

So thankfully, after a new seal all seems to be fine 'touch wood'.

Lastly, I fitted some LED side lights, not bad for 99p eBay special:

Cheers,
Matt.

Haven't really update here so here goes the last few things:

I got an STI TMIC and refurbished it

Before:

After:

Also painted my strut brace Satin Black and got the ends powder coated Wrinkle Red:

Some photos from a car show I went to:

And lastly, got myself a set of nice alloys - XXR 527's, 18" x 8.75

The new wheels really fill the arches nicely, will get some better photos at some stage.

Cheers,
Matt.

Sorry - didn't realise I had any comments.

Thanks dude. Very happy with how it turned out!

Flip, i know it! Two of my tyres turn out to be fooked already so I have to replace them.

Need to get the arches rolled too as it seems to scrub going over bumps

Matt hasn’t been on here in ages. I did have his mob number but lost it a while ago. I don’t do FB but he does (or did). Pretty sure he uses the same title “MATT93”. There are members on here who know him better than I do. They may see this and hit him up. Alternatively do a basic FB search. I’m pretty sure this build thread will be repeated on there also.
