For the last 8 years I've recommended Apple
Yeah I guess he missed that bit haha.
Less helpdesk support needed is a good saving for a company, and Macs can be locked down enough for most corporate needs. As they get more popular they will get better with improved software.
Microsoft saw this moment coming hence why they are shifting focus to other revenue streams and windows is getting a whole lot cheaper, even free in many cases.

Let's hope their current partnership is more successful than their previous ones (Taligent, Kaleida, AIM Alliance)
So in this article basically IBM have developed an app for iPads. Fantastic. Lenovo are doing the same as are Dell with their Windows 8.1 tablets at a various financial institutions. What is it telling us, not a lot other than mobile computing is changing and what one solution works for one organisation doesn't necessarily mean it will work in another. If you feel that any of the articles you posted, which goes little beyond advertising IBM as a glorified reseller on an Apple fan site, some how vindicates why you choose recommend Apple for the past 8 years, it begs the question why you feel you need to do that in the first place.

It was implied that MACS couldn't be locked down enough compared to windows which was what I commented on.
I never said windows couldn't be locked down anywhere, so you are arguing something that isn't even relevant.
I am a windows fan but I can see a place for OSX in a corporate environment and why it will work, you have to be blinkered not to.
I'm not trolling, I'm simply trying to put forward a counter arguement, just trying to get a discusion going as I have a genuine interest in this area of the IT industry, but you continue to play the man and not the ball rather than put forward your own view point in this industry (I assume you are in the IT industry still?). Of course it's about IBM and their partnership with Apple. The underlying premise for the partnership is that Apple being massive consumer producer wants to get more exposure in the enterprise market but Apple doesn't have any enterprise products to speak of and so they do it via IBM who are a major supplier and reseller in the corporate market. The article is all about selling IBM and its MobileFirst platform, but if you can't interpret that, try something simpler; just count how many times "IBM" is mentioned in the article compared to "Apple". Nevermind.....
For fear of getting a proper response can I ask an apple related question.
My kids want an ipad, specifically the air 2.
What does this offer over an android one it's replacing.
Thanks

Your children's usage won't be sold to the highest bidder. That and it will be massively more powerful, will stay current for much longer and will retain more value.
I admit I don't know a lot about ipad or Android really but the price difference is pretty big
It is very expensive, don't try to save by getting low storage, you'll regret it soon enough. I don't think there are any stand out feature differences for kids, but it'll last them a long time.
Kids want ipad, ipad, ipad I don't mind getting them one I just don't really know the features etc.
Feature wise, they're is nothing between them other than the apps they offer. If the kids will be playing games, in most cases whatever is available in the App Store will also be in Google Play store and visa versa. However, that said, the Xperia is water and dust proof and has expandable storage. If you're kids play on the PS4, that may swing it for them, if their friends are on iPads, well then that might also sway the decision.
Kids should be chuffed with any tablet, but if you don't get them the iPad they'll be asking for an iPad in six months max. Games are leagues ahead on the iPad, like a custom PC compared to a console, but with all the benefits of a console. Maybe the Air 2 is a bit too advanced, it's replacing laptops at an incredible rate.
Speaking from experience my kids have their own Hudls and access to an iPad/iPhone. All they want to do is play Mindcraft and watch Stampy Minecraft videos on YouTube, doesn't matter which device they play it on, there's no difference, they'll play on whatever is going. I think you over state iPads "benefits" somewhat when comes to kids games.
