Default New big tv's

I have a 51" Samsung plasma and I'm thinking of getting a better 4k tv as I have some cash lying around after coving a huge house for someone

Do I get a 55" tv which doesn't seem that much bigger than mine or just go for it and get the 65" set

If I get the 55" I will get the curved one but if I go larger I will save my cash and go for a flat screen. I'm looking at either Samsung or LG.

My 15yo son has a 51" Samsung Plasma, PS51E490 - it's pretty dire, but decent 3D. (He's also got a 32" Hitachi and 42" KDL42W705B (fastest gaming TV in the world!). He's as bad as me for TV's!

Go 65" if your set on the one in the link. I wanted a 65" 8 or 9 series but funds only allowed the 55" 8 series. I was too impatient to wait for the prices to drop further.

I will only be buying the tv from Costco as their warranties are excellent and I doubt they will sell old models?

I bought a Sony 4k 55" in Jan, really pleased with it.

One word of warning.. what ever you go for make sure it's HDCP2.2 compatible. (My Sony is)
http://www.techradar.com/news/televi...for-4k-1287966

some 'CHEAPER' 4k tv's aren't 2.2

I've just had a BT UHD box that is HDCP2.2 but I can't run it through my New Amp as thats 4k but not 2.2!! so I have to HDMi from the BT box direct to the TV to watch 4k via the UHD BT Box, or if I go into the Amp, it only plays HD on the TV and not UHD.

I went in to Costco today to look at the TV's and there is a 58" LG tv (2015 model) on offer for £935 so I'm going there tomorrow with the van to get one. I did fancy a 65" tv but with the saving I could use that money to buy one in a few years when they have dropped even more

I could be wrong but I think this is the tv? I'm mainly basing it on the web os2.0

It's on that list, does that mean it's ok? To be honest if it's not I would bet the price of the tv I could return it to Costco with a full refund if it wasn't

if it's there good.

if not, you're ok as long as you're not wanting to put BT UHD and a 4k player through it.. or it will just play it in HD and not in UHD.

Cheers. we will see tomorrow as I have measured the size of my tv and I will compare that to the new tv. I'm not that desperate for the tv as it's just an impulse buy. But I'm pretty sure after I get my cash tomorrow at 17.30pm I will be unpacking my tv in the house at 18.30

I bought a Panasonic 55" a couple of years ago and almost immediately regretted not getting the 65" version.

Go for it.

Too late as I have bought the 58" LG. It was too good a price to pay the extra for the 65" tv.

There is. Also, it was the first thing SWMBO said when she brought it back from the shop!

I've been looking at new tv's and have been really impressed with the LG 4K OLED's - the blacks are amazing. The new models like the 920 are also able to stream and HDMI HDR which is the next big thing. The 55" is £2600 though. If they come down under £2k after Xmas I may well be tempted to make the jump.

Richer Sounds offer a 6yr warranty and up to £300 trade in on old screens.
