Best TV - £500ish?

I'm just not into it, watching tv isn't a big part of my life, maybe 2hrs of an evening if that, sometimes more of a weekend if there's a couple of decent films on one after the other, I don't even watch my movies on my projector much these days, unless I buy a new one that's worth bothering with it for, as in it's really going to improve the experience, ie major block buster with good sound and cinamatronics and I've got over 200 films on disc, mostly because I prefer to own it for £3/5 when it's a year old than spunk 30 quid going to the cinema.

Guess what. A super exciting news for gadget loving males here. 
I saw a 49-incher 4K tv (I don't quite know what that means) in Aldi for merely £349! 
I'm sure there was no zero after £349.

Saw a nice picture on a massive Phillips tv yesterday, but it still looked a bit fake if that makes sense, mind you it should have been good because the tv was the best part of a grand, it had some fancy led lights down the sides of the frame which made it look a bit christmasy, I imagine it would look nice on the wall.
Think I'll stick with my 150 quid 32", size isn't everything.

I think it may have been this one, Bio. It was only 500 quid, though. Not 590-something. As far as I remember, it is a special offer due to the 'end of line' product thingy.

Cheap tv, and that's the point. I'm tempted myself, but I don't really need it. So I shall leave the bargain for someone else to grab.

It's official, youtube is now hosting HDR content and has an HDR playlist.
This is monumental.
It's hard to convey in words but HDR is like a step up from black and white to colour. HDR Cameras can now capture light without stepping down and 4k UHD Premium TVs are on their way to replicating it. Another prerequisite of HDR is sustained deep blacks whilst portions of the screen exhibit brightness levels many times that of non HDR sets and a 10 bit colour step up from 16 million colours to over a billion, this helps prevent blocky graduation in scenes with blue skies etc.
The JS9500 tv for example can show stars in the night sky 15 times brighter than a £300 quid 1080 JVC set. It's honestly like taking your shades off for the first time when watching tv.
